Help Car Will Not Start DCCD Blinking
I have a 2004 STI 67000 miles with a turboback exhaust and tune. I try to start up my car after getting off work and it wont start. It will crank but wont start. Also I noticed that the lowest dccd light was flashing green at about 1 second intervals. I checked the fuses hoping for an easy fix but all of them seemed to look fine. Anyone else been in this situation?? I'm thinking its like the fuel pump or spark plugs. Any help would be much appreciated.

DCCD light usually lights up when there's a drivetrain problem, like an ABS sensor malfunctioning, etc. It won't light up for a fuel or spark problem.
I can't think of anything that would trigger the DCCD light and prevent the car from starting, but I don't have a ton of experience in that department. My only experience with the DCCD flashing and ABS turning off was when one of my wheels wasn't torqued properly. It didn't affect startup or regular driving though, I just didn't have DCCD or ABS. |

I got it started today. Heard the fuel pump prime and everything before I turned it on. Then it shut itself off and I'm back to square one again with the flashing light gonna check all my fuses again with a second pair of eyes.

Sounds like a bad ground somewhere causing this intermittent problem.

I apologize if this is not applicable to your STi, but check your ECU main connector in the engine bay, see if the latch is closed.

Check under the car for any wires that might have been chewed up by some animal, cat, dog, rat, raccoon, etc

Thanks to all those who made suggestions and replys. I swaped the 30amp fuses around in the engine bay and wiggled the spark plug harnesses a little bit and it fired right up drove it for about 20 miles and it seems fine. Gonna do some detailed investigating this weekend when I have time. Thanks again guys.

I apologize about resurrecting this thread. I have the same problem. Green DCCD light blinking. Engine cranks but doesn't fire. Also, the loud walbro fuel pump doesn't prime. Did the OP's fuel pump stop priming? And was there further info after your inspection?

RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!
I have the same problem on my 04 STi. The relay seems to be working (I hear it click when I turn the key), and the fuses seem OK (I switched SBF5 and SBF6 with no change). Going to check the grounds; I think I know where they are. What else could it be? Could the relay still be bad even if it clicks? Could it be a bum ECU? (Hope not as it has a speed density tune on it.) |
