Using quality materials is everything, I.E. Teflon lines are a must. I have my setup in the trunk and there's zero smell. I agree that its a gamble either way but placing the surge tank so close to the corner of the car is just asking for trouble in my opinion.

Here's a diagram of my fuel system:

Is that the only filter you use?

No, the stock filter is still in the tank. Sorry, I forgot to point that out.

You could always go with this fabricated and welded one for $2,732.

None at all.
Using teflon hoses with stainless overbraid though, as the rubber/stainless ones are odor-permeable

Sort of random question, but has anyone here set up a surge tank for a car that doesnt have a massive turbo etc?

Im planning to set one up on my 05 wrx autox car. I really dont require much fuel like most of you in this thread.

Built 2.5hybrid, pnp heads, +1heads, kelford cams, Gt3071r turbo, bosch 1200cc topfeeds, aeromotive fuel rails etc. E85

I need the tank more because of fuel starvation in hard cornering situations.

I know its basicly the same just with smaller pumps.

I was thinking of trying a stock sti pump intank, and a aeromotive 340 after the pot. I think the stock sti one would be enough to supply the pot as its not working against pressure since its feeding the pot...

thanks

@rexworx

Have you tried installing the plastic box that comes with the sti's around your fuel pump sock?
