Default Heavy Misfire on hot starts

Hey y'all,
First post here and second Subie (just got rid of an '01 forester with 213k). Just picked up a stock '05 OBS with 138k that needed a new clutch.
Discovered stumbles terribly on a hot start (only after it's been sitting for 30+ minutes) and causes CEL to flash. Codes are for cyl. 1 and 3 misfire.

I've read many many threads with folks with this issue and only one "solution" posted, that just said it was a "scaling issue".

Can someone enlighten me to what this actually means?

I'm not trying to throw a bunch of money at this as some have, and am wondering after all these years, if there is a clear solution to this?

Cheers y'all,
