Do I need an EBCS?
I read a few threads that have great info on ecbs but I haven't been able to come to a solid answer on this.
I ordered the MAPerfomance stage 2 kit that has the intake, turbo back catted exhaust and their stage 2 tune. They claim 322whp which seems like its right on the fence for other supporting mods. How important would upgrading the stock boost controller for this setup? Their website didn't mention anything about it but I wanted to be sure and prevent the spikes.

It would be really nice if you fill in your profile so we know what car you are talking about every time you post. Makes things a lot easier and you will get better answers since people will know what application you are talking about.
A good EBCS is definitely worth the money. Good tuners always like to see those. Some demand it. It helps smooth out the tunes and eliminate spikes. |

If the MAPerformance tune doesn’t call for an EBCS then it would be worthless, if not dangerous. You need to be tuned for a different boost control solenoid. And I think that’s a fact regardless of what platform you’re on, EJ or FA.
