Default Advice for new 09 wrx hatch owner!

I really want to mod my car and my starting off list of mods I want to do is 1.Exhaust 2.ShortShifter 3.Tires. Can anyone suggest more/better mods I should be considering doing(while on a budget) and also suggestions on brands for my already listed mods^^^. Respects to anyone who helps the mandem.

First what kind of exhaust? Catbacks do nothing for power, you'll need a downpipe and tune for that. If you just want a catbacks how loud do you want to go? There aren't many for the 08-10 hatches around anymore. If you want a short shifter kartboy is the go to, don't forget bushings too. Skip tires for now if yours are in good shape, maybe look at the swabar sticky and see if that's what your looking for.

If you want something on the quieter side look at the q300 from invidia. As far as brakes I've been pretty happy with my stopping power even with all seasons.

I have Q300 on my 11 hatch, love it. First mod - went stage 2 with a cobb DP and AP, also got Cobb CAI, wow love the sound.

I got a short shifter as well, that's a must.

Also upgraded to LED lights.

I bought everything from a forum and self installed everything.

I would highly recommend

Don't do ANYTHING until you have all repairs up to date!!!!!

- Good wheels and tires, don't cheap out on these
- Short shifter (cobb one is double adjustable, highly recommend)
- Downpipe (catted, needs a tune btw)
- Sway bars + endlinks
- Accessport
- Oil Catch Can or AOS

Other great things imo
- 3 way boost control (doesn't do much till you get a tune)
- Thicc intercooler if you're sticking with top mount because heat soak

Things I'd avoid
- Cold air intake
- Catless downpipe
- BOV

Hope you enjoy your new subie!!
