Default Who uses the GTech Pro RR?

Just curious how much this has helped you in AutoX or on Track Days.

I'm thinking about buying one... but want to use it as a tool... not just a cool toy.

What are your thoughts on it?!

we bought one for our Formula SAE car for just rough numbers as we doubt it'c precision in reading but is quite accurate (consistent ) with the values we would get back from it...
we could see lateral and longitudinal gains (and losses) with different setups...
I think I'll be running Motec this year

A guy named Jack (jmott here) from my region (Houston) writes this software that you can use to analyze your data from a G-tech-RR (possibly others, I don't know). http://www.slip-angle.com/

I have the G-Tech, and am slowly getting around to learning how to use it... I'm just too lazy to read the whole book! Further, one day I'll d/l the above s/w and figure out how to use it... seen it used by other folks, looks pretty cool.

Some magazine did a test of data-loggers and the G-tech RR did pretty well as I recall, for the money, and so long as you were meticulous about calibration. YMMV, all standard caveats apply

If I could afford it... I'd be doing Motec also.
I use it for my GTR game... it IS pretty sweet. Just too damn much money!

So... honestly though... do you think using a GTech Pro RR will help me understand what I'm doing on the track and what I need to do better as far as AutoX goes?!
