FYI the 08 outback auto dimming compass mirror bolts up and plugs in fine in an 05 despite being very different.

Thanks! We are going to make it a solid camping/trip car. It will be my wife's daily as well, we might eventually swap it. But that will be down the road

Installed my secondhand RalliTEK skidplate on my lifted wagon today.

https://imgur.com/a/GvspHFG

I was disappointed with the hardware that I got from RalliTEK (washers were too small), so I ran down to Tacoma Screw and picked up some stainless washers with much larger OD. Also got some longer stainless bolts for the rear mount as I had to add additional spacers to clear the V-band clamp on my Inferno Fab headers.

Also discovered that my oil pan had taken a hit previously (pretty sure I know exactly where/when ), but thankfully no punctures/leaks.

Didn't weigh it, but I would estimate in the 10-20 lbs range. It's 1/8" aluminum, so not super heavy duty.

Decided to move on from my H6 swap project, and bought a JDM v8 STi engine instead.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/254896685218

Should arrive next week, so I'm trying to ensure I have all my supporting parts ahead of time.

Damn! Nice move! What Transmission are you going with? Any plans with it or just keeping it stock?

Looked at my RS coupe project today. It’s been a year since my friend passed and haven’t touched it since. Thinking about pulling it into the garage this weekend to try to diagnose the motor issues I was having prior to taking a pause. No clue what I’m doing without his expertise but I know I can’t leave it unfinished. I’ll probably be a lot more active in the forums as I move forward, keeping my fingers crossed that there is still knowledgeable people on here willing to give me some guidance.

Sorry for your loss man, im sure it's bitter sweet working in that thing. Still plenty of knowledge scrolling through these forums, maybe not so much the north west region anymore though, this place is a ghost town.

I have an '03 WRX transmission to pair with it for now. Sticking with a 5MT to keep the weight down, might add DCCD later.

Default Been working on this for a hard hard minute

Today was an up pipe install, clutch slave cylinder replacement, and did the transmission fluid refill because it was time. She is about a day away from being broken in as I had to rebuild the engine.

Installed the JDM dual center console today (wow, what a difference in comfort while driving).

Also, installed Munchkin seat back "kick mats" so the toddler in the rear seat will do a bit less damage to the fabric while she rests her shoes on the seat in front of her.

Removed the U frame since I'll be installing the tubular goodies. After I replace the stock transmission brace and front subframe it should be good for around 40-50 pounds of weight reduction.

@brokenringlands -- if you don't mind me asking, can you share some details / links on those items please? This is going to be the next stage for me and I am very curious to see if you found these items for under $3000.

Thank you!
