Coilovers
Quote:
I installed raceland ultimo coilovers on my 2008 Subaru wrx and it did give it a nice stance but for everyday driving and comfort wise I would not suggest that model of coil overs they are to stiff. Sometimes I feel like I’m going to hit my head on the ceiling when going down the highway and come to bumps in the road. |

What type of H&R springs do you have on and ~ how much drop did you achieve??
Can you try to send over a close up side view or maybe close pictures on the front and rear wheel gap? Thanks! |

Hey All,
New to Imprezas, not new to Subaru - just sold my Saabaru which I had modded and had lowered on Tein H-techs, and then ISC coilovers once my struts were fairly well worn out. Couple questions: 1st: Can people lowered on springs post some current pics for posterity? Quickly browsing through this thread I was only able to find a handful of pics that are still available thanks to lame photobucket and their switch to not allowing third party image sharing. 2nd: Looks like the overwhelming answer to the frequently asked question of 'what suspension works with our Imprezas?' is unamiously 08-14 WRX parts. However, it looks like only a couple springs are specifically designed for Imprezas - is that correct? I would assume given the difference in weight between the WRX and the Impreza that I shouldn't expect the advertised drop for a WRX to apply to an Impreza for given springs. Looks like the main springs people are running as posted in this thread with success to eliminate the saggy butt are the RS-Rs, Epic Engineering, and H&R. Thanks all! Happy with my new-to-me Impreza so far, but the saggy butt look is starting to bug me. ha. |

Was referred here to ask this question - Does anyone know if Crosstrek coilovers would be a straight drop-in replacement in an Impreza of the same body? I'm coming up on a strut replacement and honestly would really like a bit of a suspension upgrade but I really don't want Impreza/WRX coilovers if I go that route, because they'll drop the car and if anything I'd want a 0.5-1" lift or so.
Other options are cheap quick struts preassembled from rockauto (cheapest and easiest but probably just roughly matched or possibly slightly softer than stock if they're cheaply made?), or separate strut and spring upgrades. |

I used aftermarket coilovers to lower my wrx. I brought it into a local shop and had them set up the coilovers and they got a little carried away and it was almost impossible not to rub the front bumper while driving around town.
