You know what? I think the actual quote was "speak softly..."

I think it just morphed into all of the above.

Ok, I always though it was walk softly...but now you got me thinking as the quote was in refernce to the 'Rough Rider's' going to meet up with those Mexican bandito's that were giving us troubles south of the border.

So, who's gonna be the one to hit Google and confirm?

Yes, that is correct. Most cars bought today have autos.
I didn't say it was my transmission of choice!
~From an old article I read about an STi RA test driven in Aussieland while waiting for my RAV4 to be worked on said the car had a harsh ride, but then went on to praise everything else about the performance. Anyway that article sold me on the Subaru, but had to settle for the `02 WRX until this Summer. This US version has the same or better performance that RA had in the road test. It's by no means stripped-down if all you're looking for is a performance sedan. And I believe it will sell well into the future if our economy turns around.

Yeah, and most cars today have more unused space than my garage, are 12 feet tall, weigh more than a bull elephant, and handle like the Exxon Valdez. By no means do I consider this car as being oriented towards the main stream. The only type of transmission change I want Subaru to make would be to offer it with a 6 speed dogbox with paddle shifters.

Otherwise my car is as solidly built as my '04 Honda Pilot and every other Subaru I've ever owned. I don't undertsand where these people are coming from with the squeak/rattle complaints.- Janq
I finally got to test drive an STi two days ago... 25 miles on the ODO... it rattled from the center dash pretty loudly.

Why would you want a sequential dogbox? Have you ever driven one? Its about as noisy as you can get. *reeeeeeeee clunk* *reeeeeee clunk*

Default sti wagon

I still think it comes down to the fact that many wives will simply not let their husbands buy this car.

My wife said that the Sti looked like a "little kid's car."

I know a bunch of others (not including the hundreds on these boards) who would buy the Sti in wagon form, but not as is.

I find it strange that anyone would stop someone else from buying something that they wanted. That's not what a relationship should be about.

My wife is not crazy about the looks but she knows I'll enjoy the car. So, it's a total non-issue for us. I think it sucks if your situation is one where this is prohibiting you from buying a car.

The one thing I agreed with her about was that the WRX wagon was much more practical.

I agree with you....I wasn't too happy that she wouldn't let me get it, and I was pissed for a while. Actually, I still get pissed when I can't get off the line without revving to 3-4K and dropping the clutch.

I once knew a gal who farted in her sleep and another who slept with her eyes open.
Both of them were creepy but that didn't make me think all women do the same.

My wife isn't jealous and doesn't mind me hangin out with 'the boys' untill all hours of the night (i.e. getting home at 5AM), but that doesn't mean you can get away with it too.

Get my drift?

Repeat the above when Mrs. MX_( comes home with a pair of Manolo Blaniks on her feet, a Prada bag, and a VISA card with visible scorch marks.

Practicality: I should mention that we have an AWD XC70 wagon. So yeah, I do see that part of the equation. I'd like to think that the popularity of the WRX wagon would lead to an STi wagon.

Hey VSM EXtasy,

Are you going to the Rockville 'B&N' tonight?

I'm bored and in a mood for either fun or trouble, whichever comes first.

With my STi down for repairs I'll be driving the family truckster, '03 Pilot SUV. But its all good as it has a DVD player with a flatscreen LCD and a stereo that pumps.

Let me know as I'll be hitting the road in 30-45 minutes after i put Mrs. Janq & BabyJanq to bed. I could swing by Tower Records and pick you up without a problem.

I have baby Janq sleep in my arms now.
I'll have to put her away with mom who went down an hour ago.

Only thing is it looks like no one else is going to show for B&N. Subie boys that is. The rain is the problem.

Now I'm lookin at a movie or Blockbuster.

You know I'm real bored....
I'm sitting here watching "Gone in 60 Seconds" with Cage & Jolie on TNT.
This movie is 'Too Bad & Too Bogus'.

I'm going to go try and put the baby with mom in just a sec...
