Default The best part about the New STI......

There is no pull-up antenna on the driver's side. No car that costs over $20,000 should have a pull-up antenna. They look awful. I would buy the car either way, but the antenna on my WRX has always been a pet-peave of mine. Now the question is if the car doesn't come with a radio, where is the antenna?

It's an in-glass antenna. My dad's 1988 Sterling 2.5sl has one. It can't receive radio stations as good as a normal antenna. Hopefully, technology has improved in the last 15 years.

Oh come on, the ROW (rest of world) MY02's have this and I expect the US MY04 WRX to have it too.

THANK GOD

Although now I'm not sure where I'll put my Jack in the Box antenna ball.

my mom had this on her 94 merc villager IIRC, worked fine on that, which was a nissan product, and nissan makes a lotta subaru parts, so i guess it would work fine!

The antenna is in the glass on my S4 and it works fine. The drawback is that radar detectors that can look to the rear of the car (like a Valentine 1) are reported to be less effective with this type of antenna. Apparently the antenna creates some sort of distortion. I have not experience this 1st hand, only what I have read and heard from others.

gimme Legacy TPH wagon!

Lightbulb

Don't forget to mention that certain types of metallic window tint can affect in-glass antenna reception as well. Nonetheless, I'd prefer in-glass to the manual A-pillar unit.
