It's still a 4 door. I just can't warm up to a sedan regardless of the performance.

We're all assuming that the new 2.5L has the same bore, stroke, crank throw as the old 2.5L.

Fill in the blanks:

Bore
Stroke
Compression ratio
Crank throw
Boost
Redline
??????????????????????????????????????????

Why do the North American verison of import cars never have the smoked headlight? The RSX doesn't have the same headlight as ITR; and the new STi doesn't have the same one as JDM.

So we can:

A. stick them in our ovens
B. pay outrageous $$$ to import them
C. replace them with some proper Morettes

If they had to go cheap on something, I'm glad it's the headlights.

Talking 120hp per liter!

What has more hp per liter out there now? WRX was close to Porsche but STi is going to be better!

Because they aren't legally required in the US... which they are or used to be or something in some European counties.

The sport seats were the only ones that Subaru had with side air bag. SOA must have felt like it was really needed knowing how many wrecks the WRX would see.

What's funny is the WRX or the STi still don't have JDM seats.

Default JDM Seats

Thats because the JDM Seats will not pass the US crash safety regulations. There is a good write about this on Mike Shields website. I think it is www.spdusa.com. The JDM seats are much better but the jokers making the rules are don't get it.

I can't figure that out either. It doesn't make sense to me to produce 4 seperate fenders (L & R, wagon and sedan) for the US market only, just to leave that feature off, when a lot of us would like to have them. Wouldn't it cost more to leave them off than to include them in the US version? Maybe not? VW, Audi, BMW and many others include them for the US market. Subaru used to. My 96 OBS had them and so did the early Legacys.

I like them. They let the people in the other lane know you are coming over on lane changes, and also gives the other shlub at a 4 way stop more warning that you are turning.

********

The Acura RSX type S has 100hp per litre in a normally aspirated car.
That's pretty impressive. But, the torque is lacking.

Most impressive hp per litre? Suzuki GSXR600, 103hp to the rear wheel.
And that's not even a litre, only 600cc's. Normally aspirated.
The Yamaha FZ1 puts 127hp to the wheel at 1 litre and the Suzuki GSXR1000
puts 147.5hp to the rear wheel! Amazing. Normally aspirated.

I think Acura is bringing a Type R RSX which will go over the 100hp per litre, normal aspiration, street production car.

The bigger the displacement the trickier it gets to maximize hp/liter. The E46 M3 makes 333hp from 3.2 liters so it beats the RSX even with it's larger displacement. I think the Ferrari 360 beats both but I don't know the numbers. On bikes the small displacements seem to make it easier.

I raced bikes in the past and it's hard to imagine how fast they are getting. I ride a CBR1100XX with 1.1 liters and 150 hp and it's so outdated. I love it though... silky smooth and so pretty to my eye.

Um, the Mitsubishi Evolution has 271hp and a 2.0liter motor.
That equals 135.5 hp/liter

Don't forget about Honda's S2000... 2.0 L with 240 horses... 120hp/liter! And its naturally aspirated. Iirc, it took the North American car title in 2003. Don't tell the Sti boys its a dead heat .
