1) Awesome! A subie owner and a climber! (I stick to the sport/bouldering, but one day would like to be in shape to bag a mountain)
2) IIRC from Jon Krakauer's "Eiger Dreams" (great book by the way) Denali also gets ridiculous winds and more snow/weather than Everest.

That's why I mentioned Everest actually being in the jet stream. The standard day temp at 29,000 is -44F.

Just read "Into Thin Air," which was great, I'll have to check that one out.

Just got word that one of my guides is a friend - i wasnt sure if the schedule would allow him to be one of the guides, but since its 2:1 max ratio, it will be like a private climb because the other two guys are friends (i have never met them) and will certainly climb together with the other guide. this trip just keeps getting better.
