Went to install the new AP I received tonight on the car, and it wants to delete the tune and reset the ECU.

Question is, my car will probably run like crap or not at all if I reset the ECU back to stock, so will the stage 3 (VF39-S 93 Octane) Cobb OTS map work for me? Or will I have to get a protune to use my new Accessport.

Mods:
-magnaflow catback
-bosal down pipe
-ur up pipe
-tial 38mm ewg
-typhoon intake
-prodrive boost solenoid
-vf39 turbo
-sti pink injectors
-walbro 255 fuel pump
-cp .20 over bore pistons
-eagle h beam rods
-acl main/rod bearings
-bc racing coilovers
-kart boy short shifter
-sti intercooler

Hope I worded that all correctly.
As Black94Snake stated, you will need a protune given those mods.

Bill

While you have ATR open, viewing your current tune... You can copy the tune values over into Ecuflash or Romraider. Then you can uninstall the AP and flash with opensource.

Ok thx for the info

I had a custom map installed n the AP then flashed the ECU, I whish there was some sort of restore feature on the the AP that just un marries it instead of having it wipe out my custom map and restore the factory one, would make more sence.

Unfortunately, that would bring up a lot of other scenarios where someone can take a single AccessPORT and install any map on as many cars as they wanted to without actually paying for a single AccessPORT.

We do offer a service called AccessFLASH at our three retail facilities (Portland OR, Socal, and Plano TX) where they will tune the car without an AccessPORT. They won't be able to take an existing map and flash it however, as often protuned maps are locked. Your other option would be to, as described, get the AccessTUNER software and have an experienced tuner copy over your tune from AccessTUNER to open source software. Can I ask why you don't want the AccessPORT any more?

No, they're saved on a different set of memory sectors. Even if you go into your APManager on your computer and delete all the maps, once it's uninstalled and reinstalled they'll show up again.

I know because I've done it, lol.

That depends on what you and your tuner are going to use to tune the car. If you guys want to use the AP, then no, don't uninstall the AP. If you guys are going to use another engine management system, then yes, you will need to uninstall the AP before you can use another tuning solution.

You can find a list of available Protuners on our website here. There is also Accesstuner Race (free download here) that allows yourself or someone you trust to tune the car.

Default thinking of selling my accessport

Bought a 2008 with a V3 AP and am thinking of selling the AP. Car has stage 2 currently. Have others with stage 2 gone back to the stock map and how did their car performance? Trying to figure out what the consequences would be and if its worth it.

Default How exactly do you "unmarry" an accessport.

Selling hard parts plus AP would be worth it if you have stock. The car definitely won't run well or safely on stock tune with stage 2 parts. You could work up a possible trade for someone's stock parts plus cash.

Bumping old thread with current issue.

I have an 08 STI for sale with low compression. Car still drives with a cel on. Before sale I want to unmarry my Accessport. Will a potential buyer be able to drive, say, 30 miles using a stock map? I assume the answer is no.
