I think Neek was a bit rude, but really he has point.

I also noticed you didn't answer the question about your experience with awd cars.

For reasons of basic physics you can't compare them to 2wd.

In a 2wd car you light up the tires because you have limited traction, causing the tires to slip. Big deal. With a typical fwd car you can do this with less than 100 pound-feet torque because there is so little traction.

In a awd car you have much more traction. This means the tires don't slip.....therefore, either the clutch slips, or the tranny....well ...breaks. Eventually anyway.

You really need to think differently about awd performance, otherwise you will break your car. On Evo forums there are already dozens of people who've burnt out their clutches or have large metal bits in the fluid of their broken trannies. Be smart. Don't become one of those fools.

Neek I couldn't agree more. This car is not for drag racing, I don't know why all you people are so hell bent on breaking the clutch. This is the same thing that happened when people first got their WRX's. Buy a rear wheel drive car if you want to "light them up" Go find some winding road and have real fun with the car, <like I did last night in my friends Evo 3> You may get great acceleration, but you will be sorry in the end. And no, it is not poor design. The car is made to stick no matter what, and if the wheels are not spinning all that power is going straight to straining the clutch and trans instead. Japan gets it, why can't you guys. Sheesh

Ummmmmm no. You decided to post your troubles with being unable to "light the tires up" to a public board. Therefore you get what you get. Of course you can do what you want with your car. Jump a train. Drive it across a lake (it's so fast it just gliiiiiides). Anything you want. But when you break it and blame it on the car...Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Sorry play again.

Slips when doing things with it that it wasn't designed to do...like trying to do a burnout. Also you have yet to actually describe clutch slipping. Just a smell. Is it slipping?

I do know and it is covered. This transmission/clutch has been in very high powered cars in Europe and Japan long before setting foot here. Just treat it like it should be treated

You may have a real problem. You may not. I don't know... Is the clutch slipping? Or are you just getting a smell. Don't forget that when you go to have it checked out to tell the tech that the car sucks cause you can't do burnouts with it.
