Middle aged fart. I now owe more on the second mortgage for the car than my house. I wanted the tax deduction. Spite for a local tax income tax.

I stripped down my RST to stock.
Got $9,500 for it on trade (kelly retail $12,500) but paid out of the trade $2000 in labor to remove all the mods, install stock motor that I supplied, and to fix the auto tranny conversion that was stuck in 3rd gear for unknown reasons. Sold 1300 mile built engine/heads/intake manifold for $5300, sold the catback and boost control for $500, swapped big turbo for a smaller 5psi VF22 and $600, am about to collect $200 for strut bars, am still trying to get $3800 for VF22 turbo kit with AWIC, and $800 for torquechip ecu and SDSEFI secondary injector controller, $1600 for spare rods/pistons/rings, and $600 for spare shortblock = $13,400 back on $20,000+ spent in mods. Donated the coilovers and willwood brakes to mechanic whose wife is very very ill. Will use approx $12,000 from selling the mods to pay of the wife's car. Paid $31,996 sticker for STi and financed in a $3500 stereo system, an upgraded alarm and 5y/100K warrantee, minus trade-in above, at 7% for $660/month x 5 yr. Just like my RST, I should have it paid off in about 2 years if I save up like before. Larry |

Dang Larry!
That's a lot of salvage work. You sure your name isn't Lamont, as in 'Lamont Sanford'? And to think I thought my calling every dealer in the tri-state area and MA was alot of work. You got me beat by a mile. Good show old boy! - Janq Last edited by Janq; 07-24-2003 at 02:27 AM. |

Lamont...I mean Larry,
You inspired me to post my own info in detail. My STi lease... New 2004 Subaru Impreza AWD WRX STi Sedan | Odo.: 2 miles Negotiated Cost: $29,640 * (includes $555 Freight) Gross Capitalized Cost: $30,385.00 * (includes $695 Acquisition Fee + $50 Document Fee) Residual Value: $15,459.50 * (equates to 49.008%) $472.56/mo. @ 38mo. based on a 0.001960 Money Factor * (Money Factor equates to a 4.704% APR) $0.00 <Zero> Capitalized Cost Reduction * (Cap. Cost Reduction fee is not deductible, thus I never pay it!) 15K mile limit/year * ($0.18 over mileage penalty) Amount due at delivery: $1,651.76 * (includes a first month payment of $472.56) My auto insurance rate is $360.63 /6 months * (My carrier is Nationwide and is a corp. policy) At the end of the lease term I plan to purchase the car outright with cash resulting in a finance rate equal to that of todays conventional 48 month loans with monthly payments at half the cost. I'll decide to keep it or sell it privately at a profit depending on how resale values go. - Janq |
