Default STI and SCCA speculation

I'm wondering how much the 2.5L motor has to do with expoiting SCCA rules? I'm assuming that Open Class cars aren't resticted to 2.0L since they aren't here in Canada. Prodrive did set us shop in the US, so it seems Subaru is serious about the SCCA.

I think in Open class you could just build a 2.5 as long as you have the 40mm restrictor. I know Paul Eklund's USX open class car is a 2.2

So, the STi has nothing to do with that.

Although you maybe right, I wasn't convinced by your argument.
How would a 2.0L compare to a 2.5L motor in SCCA spes?
It was my understanding that Prodrive was consulted as to how improve the new car for the WRC. And with Prodrive in the US, you see how one can be suspicious.

Well, first to make things much more clear and to get the correct answer here, you would need to specify what kind of racing you are talking about, since SCCA by it self doesn't tell us much, does it?
