I'm afraid of heights but I'd been thinking "maybe you should take up flying?" like an idiot considering I'm afraid of heights. Watching Grand Tour and Old New Top Gear May points out he's afraid of heights but then remember he does fly planes and I think helicopters. Maybe I should take up flying.

Local thing. What A. Maroon driving. Passing zones are for suckers.

OSP said that a preliminary investigation of the scene found that 36-year-old KC Brock of Central Point was driving eastbound in a Hyundai Santa Fe when he tried to pass a truck and trailer in a no-passing zone. Brock slammed into a Dodge Dakota, driven by 53-year-old Charles Lundy of Klamath Falls, heading westbound.

Both Brock and Lundy were killed in the resulting crash. Lundy's passenger, 59-year-old Betty Bishop of Medford, was also killed.

Brock's passenger, 27-year-old Kevin Morris of Central Point, was taken to the hospital via air ambulance. OSP gave no further information about the extent of his injuries.

Isn't everyone afraid of heights to some degree?

I'm more afraid of the landing. I'm sure those final moments of free fall would be quite pleasant

My degree is sometimes a few feet. I've been sky diving but the plane I jumped out of wasn't what I call "a perfectly good airplane" so I was willing to gamble. On the other hand I've had my retired neighbor offer to clean my gutters for me since he could tell I was scared to be on a ladder a few feet up. I push myself but some things I just can't do like looking over a drop off. My legs wont move and a feeling of panic sets in. Maybe with flying the business of flying would be distracting enough to make it doable.

Given the perception of German and Japanese engineering versus American and English engineering it's pretty GD interesting the Allies won the last great war.

The Russians beat the Germans for the most part.

I'm used to the beef curtains but some prefer the sausage variety.

Not sure what Reflex prefers come to think of it.

I am afraid of heights too. Been flying airplanes and helicopters for 15 years.

We buy bottled water to drink because tap water is apparently too contaminated with chemicals from degrading plastic bottles.

Since it seems clear that the US Senate is doomed to be entirely partisan, where Senators will only vote with their respective party, it seems we should just go ahead and embrace that with an Amendment.

All states should be required to elect one Senator from each party, always maintaining a equal 50/50 split. The VP will no longer be allowed to vote as a tie-breaker.

This means in order for the Senate to pass anything will absolutely require bipartisanship and at least 10 votes from the other party. They would be required to *gasp* work together and compromise.

We should also institute a required minimum number of legislation to be passed within any 2 year period. Failure to reach the minimum number results in the 1/3 of the Senate up for reelection at the end of each 2yr period to automatically be ineligible to run for their own seat.

This also makes gerrymandering less attractive.

That was my random thought for the day.
