When I look into the eyes of the children and the parents...and they are smiling and saying: "Thank you, Dr. Montalban, you saved my child"...it was worth it.

everything I've ever seen shows rum, lime, grapefruit and maraschino liqueur, we swapped the maraschino liqueur with a maraschino cherry, and added simple syrup, and less rum because it's a college campus and we're not trying to kill kids.

anyway, it's our cocktail guy's take on it.

Today's poison. Left is a triple IPA, right is bourbon-barrel aged imperial stout. Delicious!

I had only 1 beer last night, but the big news is I got to watch a bunch of college students drinking at my bar on syllabus day, so I feel special.

sorry if this belonged in the humblebrag thread, or maybe the random joys thread, but it's here, so someone can go post about it in the random gripes thread.

It's usually not my thing either but I went to Hana Koa brewery in Honolulu and they seemed to have it dialed. That said, we were doing taster/samplers and agreed the beer was good, but could not drink a pint of it.

We recently got the leftover booze, beer and wine back from our wedding. I'm just enjoying some nice white wine like a true Californian. We usually buy cheaper white wine from Trader Joe's but this Kim Crawford Sav Blanc is really good.

Hofbraeu Muenchen is available year-round at BevMo. Paulaner is seasonal. I'll have to go to a different location which I know has more variety. I buy regular Bitburger fairly often.

We dont have Total Wines or Bevmos out here, closest is Vegas or Phx, possibly Yuma. I bought a 6er Mudshark's Bighorn Sporting Lager...apparently the proceeds go to local collegiate sports

I'm guessing Havasu must have some decent microbreweries?

Drinking some west coast IPAs trying to find something as dank and resinous as I had on vacation in California.. Nothing out here comes close. Well, 1 beer is about 85-90% of the way there but still.. I want to smell and taste liquid nugs/hops again

That said our somewhat local Castle Danger has a Maple Marzen that is delicious.
