Putting 2nd gen Fozzie strut assemblies on a legacy "L" would push it up like 3-4 inches, thus higher than the warned 2" > stock... That's when you should consider all the other drive line dropping stuff, which you've given great photos of in here. Quote:

check here... http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/...ack-wagon.html
but in short, King springs from Australia, but they're spendy, strut spacer like Subtle solutions (http://www.subtle-solutions.com/prod...roducts_id=140) or jackson rally (http://www.jacksonrally.com/?page_id=17), or Baja springs in your OB struts... I hope that helps or gives you direction. . . |

the '06-'07 has an issue with the height and length of the front bumper. A few of the guys over at dirty impreza trim the bottom of the bumper off. Previous generation imprezas have a little more approach clearance. That built in lip tends to get folded over a lot.

I went the cheap route before realizing all of what would be affected.....
Used my KYB AGX wrx struts and switched from Prodrive lowering springs back to stock wrx springs, talked Shane at Paranoid fabrications into making 1" versions of their spacers. 215/75r15 tires on Team Dynamics 15" ProRally wheels (stripped and repainted a nice metallic burnt copper...looks 10x better in person than what I can get in the pics) This thread has some great info in it though, answers to all the problems I've come across (rsb, cv joints, back tires just barely clearing the front of the wheel well, etc) Thanks for all the info! |

So, for all you guys with the serious lifts (e.g. Forester suspension), have you had to replace your stock flexible brake lines? Are they too short at full droop?

Ok, so say I get the 215/65r16 grabbers obviously I'll need 16" wheels, but what offset would be the most functional?

the lift looks great i must say. i have been interested in getting a few more inches of clearance for my 06 wrx but i am worried about ride quality and raising the center of gravity... how has the ride handling i.e. cornering changed. or what other pros cons have you experienced... any info would be awesome.. also im sorta new to the forums and this place is great source of info |

hi i'm kind of new to the Nasioc forum but i wanted to ask some questions cuz i think there are more people here with lifted subarus than anywhere else. So right now i've lifted my car 1" the front and 1.25" the rear. I was thinking of fabricated 1" spacers for the sway bar mounts, trailing arm brackets, F/R subframe braces, and the diff mount spacers out of HDPE. what else would need to be spaced in order to keep the geometry of the car? and would 215/65r16 clear the F/R spring perch? I'm thinking of order bridgestone dueler H/T 689, 684.

*EDIT* but with 83 pages here, http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1228188 I guess it's a growing occult movement within NASIOC What have you "lifted" you car (1" front and 1.25" rear) with and what car is it? And forgive my memory, but what is HDPE again? You really don't need to space down the drive line until you get over 2" of lift. The axles will be able to handle the added angle just fine, but once you lift more than 2" you should start considering the subframe spacers (engine mounts, tranny x-member, rear diff hanger, etc. etc. and so on... keep on keepin' on! and let's see it Last edited by skunkman; 08-06-2011 at 09:07 AM. |
