1) remove stock bushing
2) install ALK

Just come up to Columbus if you want some help. Assuming, that is, that you're the teddyj that is in Ohio

Honestly, there aren't any good ALK install tutorials. The few that exist all miss important details. If anyone around here does one, I'll do a williaty-HOWTO for it.

Oh, you mean the one that tells you to disassemble your entire suspension just to put in some spacers. LOLz. I'll take mine over that one any day.

Is Kastle's brake pad installation any different from that of a 2005 STi installation? I've never changed the pads on a set of Brembo's yet.

a couple of potential problems- one the domed washer was inadvertently placed upside down (need to be orientated / \- small side up) or under the upper perch- needs to be on top

or you have the upper perch positioned wrong- there are three holes on the upper perch- the center hole should be centered on the strut facing directly outward

don't forget to look at the sway links first (it's often a source of noise up front)

Check out the brake upgrade FAQ and look for the word "drum". I dunno why I didn't put that in here.

^ 04 STis were 5x100 bolt pattern, so you can use them on your Impreza. Otherwise, the others were 5x114.3, and will require a spindle change.

Default Rear rotors

I have an 02wrx, and the handbrake is on the rear. Is there anything special that needs to be done when changing the rear rotor? Is the handbrake (which is a drum I would imagine) going to uncoil on me if I take out the rear rotor?

Including me there is at least three occurrences of Steering Angle Sensor errors after changing the rack bushings on 06-07 STi's. Mine occured even though the battery was disconnected and I marked the column and rack.

http://www.iwsti.com/forums/drivetra...ing-green.html

There is also a spattering of other instances of SAS errors when doing mods around the steering column. Faulty SAS causes problems for both DCCD and VDC systems and is a $300 part. Be aware of it and tape and mark positions when working on the steering.
