Hey we only had to pull the entire timing belt setup what... 3 times? Only thing I still have to do is pull it again so I can helicoil one of the water pump bolts, and replace the seal. Possibly the thermostat as well. Seems this one has been sticking with the cold.

I hate helicoils, any way you can drill/tap it out to the next size? I probably have the correct tap if you would rather try that route

I'm thinking it's m8 x 1.25 but I'll have to check. If so, I know I have an m10 x 1.25 for sure. Just have to make sure the bolt fits through the pump housing.

Hey everyone! Does anyone want to take my old ej22 of my hands? It needs a new rod bearing and new gaskets. Idk what anybody would need it for but I'm sure it's good for something. Apparently they're more reliable than the 2.0s and 2.5s but I just bought a 2.5 turbo for my leggy so I definitely don't want it anymore. It's been torn down to the block already but I have all the parts labeled and organizedish. If you want a specific part too that's cool, just shoot me offers.

What 2.5 turbo motor did you get? We should get a meet/cruise going, finished my motor swap. The old ej20g motor ended up being fine and I will probably be selling it.

It's a fun motor I've heard!

Does anyone up here do tuning? The ej255 I have didn't come with a turbo unit so I had to get one so I decided to go bigger. Plus I'm still running the ej22 cpu and such. Idk if it'll just adjust to the 2.5 or if I have to swap out sensors or what. I kinda bought impulsively with minimal research so I'm not quite sure what I dove into. Any info is greatly appreciated!

I doubt that n/a ecu will work, but a LGT harness/ecu could probably be made to work. Is that LGT motor fly-by-wire or does it have throttle cables? There's always a standalone but your looking at spending some money. I use legacygt.com and legacycentral.org for a lot of info.

Throttle cables and I threw it in the car just to test fit and all the vacuum lines and sensors and everything are the exact same and in the same spots as the 2.2..... But it's definitely a dohc and the block is stamped ej255 so I'm really really confused.

It was the day there was the motorcycle accident in front of Fry's and the RV place. I was in the red forester with the gold wheels.

This setup WILL NOT work. Subaru ECU's cannot correct that much, plus it has different injectors, and an immobilizer in the factory ECU. Also, 255 had coil packs not plug wires. U might very well have to rewire the front half of the car (at least). Did you just buy the long block? Post pics of the motor and well go from there.

Had some time this weekend, stripped the hood down to do some filler on the hail dents. Looks like it might be MUCH less work to replace the hood. Also, I'm thinking that the hood may be a sortafit hood, as the skin is really thin.

Anybody been to UPickIt in Flag lately? There's been an 02 Forester up there for a while. Was hoping to pick up an 01-02 hood with few or no dents.
