The whole reason for using a foam cannon and its merits has absolutely nothing to do with saving time. I have no idea where you are coming from with that comment.

Instead of a foaming gun, I would much rather spend the money on a good water purification unit. If you have that, you can just use a bucket method with no fancy tools and still get spot free wash even while in the sun as long as you rinse well.
Of course, foaming a car looks professional and cool factor is nice to have. But for me, speed and spot-free is much more important. |

Need Advice: Foam Cannons!
What some of you folks may be forgetting or unaware of in regards to a foam cannon, either on a pressure washer or a foam gun on the end of a garden hose is...
Contact - moreover the lack of! The less and softer you touch the paint during the contact wash phase, the less you damage and swirl up your clear coat. The less imperfections are in the clear coat (the flatter it is) the more gloss and radiance your car will throw off. It’s all about having as close to immaculate clear coat as possible...above all things...that is, if you are looking for ultimate shine and gloss. Who isn’t? If you use a good prewash foaming soap in a foam cannon or gun , you start lifting much of the dirt and contaminants off the car before you even touch it. (Depending on how filthy or not your car is; how long you wait between washes) By the time you bust out the buckets for your contact wash, you will have less grime on the car, so you’ll (hopefully) be using a soft dragging motion with the wash media - not a scrubbing or scouring motion, and you will have removed all the crap. You will touch it less and will notice the surface grime at a minimum. Bonus points if you use the 1 bucket multi mitt system, over the two bucket method. That’s the best way without question to ensure zero scratching. Should you be lucky enough to have a pressure washer, capitalize on the “pressure” and use it to blast as much grime off the car before you touch it. You can do a few different pre-treatments before your foaming prewash or just get right to the foaming prewash. It depends on how far you want to take it The right equipment, with the right products, with the right techniques will always yield superior results. There are no if,ands, or buts about it. Your clear coat will thank you for it! |

ive actually had some great performance out of a sub $20 cannon off amazon.
my procedure has been foam the car when its dry, let it pull most of the dirt off. Rinse with power washer. re-soap using cannon and wash using 2 bucket method. I dont like a lot of chemical guy stuff, but i really like their honeydew soap. |

Need Advice: Foam Cannons!
^ The honeydew foams well for sure. That being said, It has at best average cleaning power unfortunately. I’d reach for something more effective
Try griots foaming surface wash for your prewash and CarPro reset for your contact wash or xtreme solutions suds. I prefer the one bucket multi mitt technique. It’s the safest way to eliminate the possibility of scratching the clear. https://877askxtreme.com/product/xtreme-suds/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.car...-1-liter-34oz/ https://www.griotsgarage.com/product...urface+wash.do |

The UBER Blue Cannon from detailersdomain. It works AWESOME. Get a nice shampoo like Adams Mega or Nextzett and you are set. You will NOT be disappointed.

Back when I had my ole' girl, I had quick warshn' method worked' like a charm everytime!
Don't even need a bucket! Dawn soap all over er' , spray with some water, swab the decks' as they say! Pull out the ole' leaf blower and blast er' off. Only cannon I used was this right arm if ya know what I mean! I use to have a saying. It's a subaru, not a porsche! She gets the leftovers' and rough treatment' if ya know what I mean! Good ole' gal, never talked sideways once. This method was good enough to get all the bird crap n love bug gunk off and took me about 10 minutes. Done in time to drop a deuce n make dinner before the old' lady comes home for dinner ! |

I have the MTM PF22.2 (upgraded bottle version) with the 1.1mm orifice using a cheap greenworks pressure washer and it works really well. I was using a Matcc cannon off Amazon with a 1.1mm orifice and it just didn't foam very well, really watery with various amounts of soap, hot or cold water in the bottle didn't make a difference.
One thing worth noting I didn't see but may have missed, the MTM goes through soap way slower. So it's not just that the foam is thicker and clings longer, I use less soap now as well. 4oz of Adam's is enough to foam the car and dump the remainder in my wash bucket. |

Picked up the cheapo Chemical Guys unit since my wife bought a new car. It sure makes washing the car more fun than just the bucket method, but damn can it burn through soap!
Once I run out of Meguiar's I'll be trying the purple Adams soap. |

I bought this one about 2 years ago and have used it about 10 times over the past two years and I'm very happy with it. I just fill the reservoir with meguirs gold class nothing fancy and it makes nice foam.

Any cheap one off Amazon ~$15-20. Unless you're really trying to get that IG picture of a snowy white covered car, go with a cheap amazon one.

Sun Joe
I’m currently using the sun joe foam cannon paired with the sun joe pressure washer that both can be purchased on Amazon. No complaints yet after about 10 washes!
