Default FAQ's- Need Your Help

EDIT: This is what I have done so far... I will keep adding what you folks suggest to what I've taken from the FAQ section here on the IClub and update this page:

http://www.northursalia.com/faq/faq1.html

I have another one of my "ideas" and I figured that people on the board usually want to help the board out, so why not ask ? In an effort to keep the repetitive questions down, cut down on the "do a search" replys, and people feeling a bit put-off by older-not-necessarily-wiser members replying as such, we need a really kick-ass FAQ section. People have asked for it before, Alex and Nick are doing a damn fine job with the FAQ we have, but we all can use some help sometimes... we're all only human after all. So, without any discussion of how useful you think the idea is, how you figure people might not bother clicking the link, or whatever, I am asking for people to simply post a nice one-liner frequently asked question that you see on the board- nothing more. PM me if you feel the need to have a lengthy conversation on the subject- I'd like to keep this post tidy and to the point. Likewise, there's no need to place answers at this point- just post the questions. I'm not looking for the archaic and obscure here- just FAQ's. I figure that 11,000 heads are better than one ! I'll start off with a few to warm things up and give everyone the idea. I'll compile them all and we can make a sticky out of it until Alex can add it all to the FAQ section. Here we go and thanks to everyone who submits an idea!

Frequently Asked Questions:

*"Why can't I shut off my parking lights?"
*"Can I remove my hood vents?"
*"What is offset?"

All good suggestions... please, keep them coming. Things like the "what size tires with no rubbing" and "what should I set my MBC to" won't be happening, because of all the variables. One MBC setting that works with one set of mods won't for another, likewise, one suspension/alignment setup may allow for 225's where another won't .

not a faq question, but a suggestion:

- perhaps add a FAQ section on the message board

- add the i-club.com banner on the forum area so people can see there is a FAQ section ( as well as all those other things like Mod's, members and member rides, i-club store, etc. ). sometimes some of us stay so much in the forums that we forget that there are the other sections of i-club.

- it might be a good idea to have the FAQ also hosted in the forum so if there are updates/etc., members can add them. also, not sure who actually maintains the back-end of the site, but maybe make the FAQ section ( if added ) preferred in the search engine.

anyways, just a few ideas.

oh yeah, for the people that request the "kills" message board, just add a link on the site to clubwrx.net

i'm done

What kind of light bulbs do I have?

What's the max boost I can run on the stock turbo?

What are my stock spring rates?

Whats the difference between an STi and regular wrx?

Also, if you can figure out a way to end the worthless WRX vs. Altima, Celica, RSX, S4, Pinto... threads that would rock. Maybe pull some quarter mile times from edmunds and just put that somewhere in the faq or...just say the impreza rules all .

Regards,
Bernard

This is where I'm collecting/HTML-ifying what you guys have given me thus far plus what is in the FAQ section of this site. It will eventually look like the white/gray/blue/gold of I-Club.com, but it's a victim to my CSS right now .

Bug me by email/PM if you don't see anything new every few days .

Everyone who has ever posted "do a search" to a thread should be speaking up here . There are a great deal of you out there that have asked for ways to help, and this is one of those opportunities. This is a chance for all the "old timers" on the board to help out the new folks in a far more constructive way than "do a search" as well .
