It's been a few years since the last post in here. Any recommendations for a local scoobie shop/mechanic near Gordon to get work done, that is not Gerald Jones Subaru.

Thanks!

To my knowledge, there is no one in the Augusta area that I would trust to work on a Subaru, except myself. I drive 2.5hrs to Moreland for any work I can't do myself and for tuning. Steve Pulzone at Pullz-on Tuning is who I go to.

Most of us are gone and I don't know if anyone local does a Subaru-specific meat anymore. Might need to resurrect the meat, Sal!

Sal, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, do I remember a Sal? I don't know. Think I've had a concussion since then. I might be one of the only ones left around here from 2014? Unless Ibsen is still creeping around. Haven't heard from him in years either.

I believe his name was Justin he had a 04 wagon with a destroked 2.3 with a rotated GT30 set up and there was a E-7 ( I forgot her name) that had a 08? STI Hatch that was fully built closed deck. A guy who had a hawkeye sti with carbon fiber fenders and a 270z with a 350 small block.
Mine was a 02 WRX with a 04 sti scoop, helix dp, blitz catback and 5zigen wheels.

Sorry unfortunately I forgot most peoples names. It’s been a while since I’ve owned a Subaru but like I said I picked up a 18 STI and plan to lightly modify it for street duties and eventually restore a high mileage multi-owner 04 STI.

Probably Justin Vezina, he's down in Florida now. And if the 08 STi was red, probably Vicki. I might have just missed you back then. I bought my '12 STi brand new, but didn't meat or hangout with anyone until at least 2014.

Yeah it was red! I was thinking Vicki but I wasn’t sure. How is Justin? He helped me out a lot when I didn’t know much.

Well,
I have a work trip and should be back late March. I’d like to try to get things started up again if possible, doesn’t have to be a Subaru only thing, I like anything and I’m always down to help or hangout. I just paid off the STI so I won’t be digging into it just yet but maybe later on this year after I take the time to learn about it and what I would like to change.
Things I’m planning on so far:
Cobb access port
Grimspeed 3 port
1050cc injectors w/ pnp connectors and a pump to match
FPR kit-to fix the stumble
IAG street AOS
Dom cyc 4 cooling mod
Process West Cia - I think this one won’t heat soak like the Cobb but I’m not 100% set on it.
Silicone turbo inlet- stock size
Cobb or invidia catted dp
Awe touring catback, Cobb or Blitz- sound clips don’t really do a whole lot of justice.
Killer B ELH(coated w/ v-band up pipe)
Killer b pick-up with tray (stock pan)
Coated grimspeed heat shield
IAG TGV Deletes (not sure if I should run the phenolic spacers)
Kartboy pulley
Kartboy endlinks
Kartboy wedge kit
Maybe fortune coils w/ swift springs
Maybe a one piece drive shaft.

I’ve talked to Dom and JR about tuning the car and Shiftfast about the install ( I don’t have a the tools to install) let me know if you have any suggestions or input.

But hit me up

What are your goals? I wouldn't worry about the injectors or pump until you start adding a bigger turbo/more power...CAI is useless too. Kartboy/Whiteline all the things!

Just a heads up, an aftermarket FPR may or may not get rid of the stumble. IT actually made mine worse. Tuners own words, "WTF". Had to do Perrin FPR and Perrin fuel rail kit, stumble was never to be heard from again.

Ditto on CAI. doesn't do anything until 400+ ponies. I only did it for the reusable air filter and ease of changing it.

Wouldn't even bother with a 1 piece drive shaft. None of the other mods will get you anywhere near that territory. The stock STi driveshafts don't have any known issues I'm aware of. James' STi still has a stock driveshaft and he's done like 30 rallyx and maybe 5 stage rallys with his, countless 5500 rpm launches during those with no driveshaft issues.

As far as tuning, I'd go with someone a little more local than DOM, thats a hell of a drive. lol. There's a guy less than 3 hrs away in Moreland, GA that's a fantastic tuner and mechanic. I can put you in touch with him if you want. Very reasonable labor prices as well.

I've also installed everything on your list (not exact same brands) my self in my garage at one point or another, except for the cooling mod. Jury is still out on that mod, and i believe jsut doing ELH actually helps with cyl 4 temps more than anything else.

Well I’d be down for some help when I do get to buying the parts and I’ll look into the tuner you mentioned.
