No Problems installing those spring. They are as easy as can be, if you have the right tools. With out the right tools, you cn find yourself using more muscle than needed.

The rear Bolts were a pain in butt to get of, cause they were on VERY tight, the fronts came of easier.

Make sure you take note of the the Strut Tops and how they are in relation to the body of the Strut. You will see that there is a particular way it is aligned.

I would take all 4 struts out and as you install the springs, and complete the assembl, check it against the stock set, and make sure everything is aligned, that will save you tons of headaches, when you are putting them back into the car.

Took me about 3 hrs by myself.

One cool thing you might want to look at is how thick the Struts are when you have it apart, take the plastic boot off and look at the piston on that thing.

please make sure to take well illuminated pics and closeups (somewhat closeups but capturing the entire wheel) of the gap left between the fenders and tire. I wonder if the H&R will level out the STi? We know that the STi springs will still retain that odd looking gap up in front.

The H&R's lower the STi 1.4" front and 1.3" rear, so my guess is that there will still be more gap in front than in the rear.

The H&R's lower my WRX very nicely. Think I'll save them for my STi.

Why would you put WRX springs on an STi? If they aren't of a spring rate high enough to go with the stock STi shocks, you're killing the suspension.

For one thing, the tops of the rear springs are different. You'd need to swap the STi upper spring perch for a WRX one.

Thanks for the reply, my main concern is the alignment of everything, I have all the right tools to complete the job, it will be around the first of October till I can get the springs in the car, I will probably do a 4 wheel alignment just to be safe, the Subaru dealership here locally does them for about $45 Just wandering if I was going to run into any snags! I'll take pics when complete, I think if I remember correctly that the springs lower the STI around 1 1/4 inches!

Too late for me... that's when. I ordered a set from Rallispec as well.

You could probably save $25 to $70 bucks waiting for Prodrive, but I prefer not to wait an indefinite amount of time.

Because noone on this site with a WRX is running STi struts w/ aftermarket springs... of course not All it would take is one little post to the suspension tech. forum to find out if they're "killing the suspension" or not.

It's all really a compromise in strut life anyway, as soon as you start dropping the car you're most likely going to shorten the life of the struts by some amount.

Seriously though, as far as fitment goes you might have an issue with the spring perches as mentioned above.

Was this on your WRX or your current STi?
