I believe he stated that you could talk about compensation. That would be an incentive. Most likely, I'd assume, it'd be either some free product or a discount on developed products.

And why the knock on AEM? Are you confusing them with APC?

For your information, APC products are made in Malaysia, my supplier's sister is working there. It is just a marketing ploy to make it sound "American"

AEM is looking to develop the hard parts line (intake, brakes, fuel system) in the first stage, then later on the Engine Management system. For the two weeks we will be concentrating on the hard parts line. I will be the head engineer on the Sti. We would require the ecu flash be done as there will be dyno work done. In the end (once production starts) you would get a free intake (roughly 4 weeks), and rental reimbursement if needed.

a free $200 intake and you get an STi for 2 weeks. hell.. ILL GIVE SOMEONE $500 for 1 week.... maybe if you said that they would also get to take advantage of the engine management... it would be a good deal.

Engine management would take more than 2 weeks and the EMS isn't for everyone.

Oh, I know it would take more than 2 weeks. I am saying that Is this a long term kinda thing.. where right now its for an intake, but in a month or so you are gonna want to try out engine management and bigger and better stuff and the person will be able to help with that and have that installed for free or real cheap as well. or is this strictly a 2 weeks and all you get is an intake deal. I just cant see someone giving up a $30k car for 2 weeks when no one has had one for more than 5 months.

I still dont understand why you are posting negative comments in this thread?

AEM wants to develop aftermarket parts for the STi... IT SHOULD BE WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED....

I mean cmon...

Things happen once you get your foot in the door. It all depends on the owner as far as that goes. AEM used to work on limited edition rare cars a long time ago. These cars were easily in the 100K+ range. I don't have a problem asking for a Civic, Sti or M5 for 2 weeks. The cars leave the same way they come in. I would have liked to have gotten a car from Subaru but the demand was/is too high.

dont forget to put a velocity stack style trumpet on the end of the CAI to smooth airflow so that MAF doesn't get wierd readings!

Ben.
Just out of curiosity, do you publish any of your testing methodology? A dyno does NOT tell the full story in my opinion, and that seems to be what most people are going off.

Looking forward to your reply,

-st

Check out our website where we have the dyno procedure and temperature testing procedure.

You are right, dyno's don't tell the whole story <insert bs dyno chart>.

Ben-

Please don't take this a flame just sheer curiousity. How are you planning on improving the brake system? The only way I can see is maybe building a full 2-piece full floating rotor assembly (cross-drilled and slotted?).

Also are your fuel rails going to be a parrallel design? Or simply larger diameter (higher flowing) series design like the stock system?

Thanks
