Default 2015+ WRX: Armrest extention dimensions?

Looking at the factory center console armrest extension thing on Subispeed, they say it raises the armrest and moves it forward, but they don't give any exact numbers as to how much it's raised/moved.

Anyone know offhand?

Can't help you with that, but I can tell you that you're better off getting the JDM dual console armrest extension (http://www.subispeed.com/2015-subaru...5-wrx-2015-sti) rather than that factory one. The JDM dual console gives you more storage space, and it reuses your existing armrest cover rather than replacing it with that vinyl one.

Ah! The JDM extension says it's a 4" height increase.

Also, I didn't realize that about not reusing the factory cover. Will definitely go with the JDM version to keep the interior matching.

Thanks

It's a 10 minute install, too. You can't go wrong.

No idea why it's not a USDM option, since a similar thing used to be available.

The JDM dual console is the only way to go. I had a similar box on my '07 WRX and it was the first thing I ordered for my '15 STI. It makes the center arm rest high enough to actually be useable, plus it makes it roughly the same height as the armrests on the doors. I'm not sure why this isn't something that's pre-installed at the factory.

Default Armrest Extension Internal Dimensions

Hi - I'm trying to find the internal dimensions of the Armrest Extension (the size of the upper tray). I'm hoping to be able to put my phone in there but not sure if it'll fit. My phone with case is 6 1/2" (140mm) long. Thanks

Mine is about 6 and 3/8” so 6.5 might be a bit too big?
