Default It's interesting that they don't seem to care about internet performance!

Having not visited the STI forum for several days, and being a computer professional, I find it interesting that the owners of this board aren't thinking at all about the performance of their server. The more you have to wade thru or search, the more resources it requires on the server and the workload is much less if you can go directly to what you want to find. Up to a limit, the more and better the forums are organized, the better performance of the server!

That's what I said to myself! Let them find out first-hand how thousands of searches per day will bring their servers down to their knees!

could the forum be organized better? Maybe. do we need better and more faq's? sure. Are people jumping at the chance to help organize and write faq items? not that I can see. and I'm as guilty as anyone here.

Let's see how it goes, maybe it won't be so bad.

As if n00bs even use the search engine

Why bother when they can just ask the same damned questions about their intake and BOV that's been answered millions of times already?

But... but... they make pretty noises and go PSHH-PSHHH

You guys are funny though... how many members do you think this board has? You really think a couple dozen STi people doing searches just like everyone else is going to suddenly cripple the server (any more than it already is sorry ). Ohhh... good laugh, thanks

Oh, and even though I'm not nearly as qualified as some of the people on NASIOC, I'd be willing to help with FAQs if the board administrators wish to go down that road... youcan consider this fair notice if it happens.

OT generates most of the load on the server.
