Default CAD/GIS job opening at the UW

I am leaving the UW (got a better offer ). My boss is trying to find someone that might be able to take my place, just thought I would give the subie community a heads up.

Need to know:
CAD/GIS
Database (preferably Oracle)
Web design a big plus
Space planning or facilities backgroud would help

The job is for the UW Space Inventory Management System. We track all UW space at the room level. We track who the space is assigned to (department) and what the space is used for.

Job is not posted yet, but should be soon (pending the job description). If you have any questions send me a PM.

You should work for the company I'm at. CH2M HILL. I believe they're looking for GIS people too in the Environmental group.

Yes, the UW has a pretty good GIS program. I'm taking it right now. I'm actually taking a 3 quarter certificate program through UW extension. It lasts from Sep-Jun. It focuses on GIS, and is taught by GIS professionals. The lab instructor (Jaime) even works at CH2M Hill. This program is great for career changers (like me), or those just interested in GIS.

If you're an undergrad, the Geography/GIS program is excellent. When I graduated in 1996, I would guess about 5% of all Geography undergrads focused on GIS. Today, I think at least 75% focus on GIS. Kinda ridiculous.

BTW: anyone know what the market is like for GIS jobs?
