Post Question about pre-ordering

Need help on this guys,

This afternoon i am stopping buy at Subaru dealer, I had a brief conversation over the phone about "pre-order".
Is it true that Subaru requires U$1,000 deposit and it is non-refundable? I really like to try the car first before put unrefundable downpayment. If I decided to wait for the test drive and pre-order it, will I get the car? the salesman is trying to convince me that they might not have any by that time....

thanks for your help guys......

You're being yanked. Subaru doesn't require a deposit, the dealers just ask for what they can get out of you. Do not stand for a non-refundable deposit if you decide to leave one.

At Heuberger Motors here in Colorado Springs I had to put $1000 down(which is no biggie) and it is refundable. Got that in writing.

Thanks for your help guys,

I am back from the dealer, they are getting two WRX approximately on March 12. It is a sedan and wagon, the sedan is white, they insist to have 1,000 non-refundable deposit, I decided not to put one down and maybe waiting to see and test drive the white one that they will have. I am actually looking for blue one, I hope I could get the white one less than MRSP (Cross my finger ) The salesman said that he got a stack of request for WRX from the internet and a lot of people are planning to get this one, but it seems like no one has put the $1,000 non-refundable deposit, it seems like everybody is waiting to drive the car first.....they will call me as soon as the gar get there....

thanks for the help guys....I almost put a non-refundable deposit there

Have a Nice Day?

Yup, find another dealer...sounds like those guys may even play the "supply-demand" game and gouge whoever wants the cars most!
