There is no visible difference between than the the regular STI.

there is a visable difference, check out the wheels,- those are different gold wheels from the standard sti, maybe there 18's- the car also redlines at 8000rpm- is that the same?

The wheels are the same as the standard STi's. See http://www.subaru.co.jp/impreza/sti/sti.htm

It seems like the S Edition fits in between the TypeRA and the normal STi. From the S's specs/equipment list, it says that the following are missing compared to the normal STi:

6-speaker stereo system
Aluminum pedals
Plated inner remote door handle
Flashing hazard lamps (when doors are locked)
Specially Designed Key Chain
Metal shift boot ring (the metal "ring" that surrounds the shifter)
