44mm EWG Group Buy
We know many of you have been yelling at us to get this thing started, we'll nows the time. This is the product release group buy for our new 44mm EWG Up pipe(i know, a month late, but better late than never). An External Wastegate (EWG) allows exhaust gases to be diverted prior to entering the turbo; thus creating a quicker turbo spool. GrimmSpeed's EWG has a larger diameter than the stock internal wastegate; this allows the exhaust gas to be released faster, which improves boost control, maintains ,maximum boost longer in the rpm range and extends the life of the turbo. Moving the wastegate out of the turbo relieves the turbo from the massive amounts of turbulence that the stock internal wastegate creates. The EWG Up-Pipe is built from 304 SS with thick 12mm 304 SS flanges that will not warp. The flanges have been CNC cut for perfect tolerances(no laser cutting here!). A flex section has been added; this will extend the life of the product(allows expansion/contraction of pipe without cracking) and will lead to less exhaust leaks. Users should expect gains in the 15-40hp range when tuned for the EWG set-up. Also included in the EWG Up-Pipe package, a bracket to hold the stock internal wastegate shut. This bracket is helpful because the turbo door does not need to be welded shut, decreasing the chance for leaks and allowing for easy removal if necessary. The GrimmSpeed EWG Up-Pipe Kit fits more downpipes than any other EWG Up-Pipe on the market. Quick Facts: Quality Flex Joint - We've sold well more than 600 pipes with flex joints and have never had an issue with any stock grimmspeed pipe. Flow through Flex - There are no big steps in the flow path of our flex joint. Our flex is not located on a bend so there is very minimal flow loss(if any) through the flex. EWG Side Outlet Support - Our ewg up pipes come with an extra support on the external wastegate outlet of the pipe. We've had no issues with cracking, we just want to keep improving and make it that much stronger so you can have no worries about failure. 2.0mm Piping Thickness - almost all pipes on the market use a 1.5mm thick piping wall, not us. We use a 2mm thick piping wall(33% thicker than all of our competition!) Pipe to Flange Connection - Much smoother connection. Piping is ported flush with flange so there is no step into the pipe. 1.92" Inlet = perfect match to gasket allowing a little room for gasket movement(anything bigger, ie 2", will almost be guaranteed to put the gasket in the flow which is horrible for flow) 1.75" Outlet = Narrowing down from 1.92 to 1.75 acts as a funnel. Also very close match to most common turbos so you have much less step going into the turbo(unlike a straight through 2" which creates a huge step going into most common turbos vf's, tdo4s, etc) Massiave 304SS flanges 15+whp gain Minimal internal steps for maximum flow Complete stainless steel construction(pipe, flex section, flanges) Flex joint that is NOT located in the bend which adds life expectancy to the flex section. many other up pipes have a flex right in a sharp bend so all the exhaust/turbulence is hitting up against it. Reduce turbo lag Increase exhaust flow to turbo GROUP BUY DETAILS Closes on: Tuesday, February 2nd(2 weeks long) Participant limit: No-limit Pricing structure: Tiered Normal MSRP: 329.99 1-10 participants: 309.99 11-20 participants: 289.99 21+ participants: 269.99 Shipping will be $10 to anywhere in the 48 states. Hey Justin I have one of your ewg non v-band uppipes and wanted to know if there is any way to change/weld on a v-band flange onto my existing uppipe. If not I guess my name will be on that list pretty soon...

A custom fab shop can weld on pretty much anything, but at that point we no longer warranty our pipes. If the regular design is still working for you i wouldnt worry about it at this point unless you think a 44 is necessary over the 38mm. Mike |

Hey Mike, my build is getting underway very soon, I have your uppipe in my possession, but not on my car as of yet. When all is said and done, the car will be running a Deadbolt sz55... do you think it is necessary? The car will run a c16 map so boost will be in the 25psi range at certain times, and just normal 20ish psi boost in dd mode. I have read about the problems with the non v-band 38's and want to set the car up right. Not having an ewg yet, I will be purchasing one in the future and would rather not spend the money on a 38 if I will likely run into problems. Thanks for the reply! Bump!

generally most tuners will say anything biger than a 20g and you will need a 44mm, anything smaller a 38mm works. Justin |
