You know how hard it is to get an accurate door card access list? Nobody responds to those emails and nobody gives a ****. However, if you remove access, BOOM! People very quickly inform you of which doors they need access to.

Some kids outside are (edit were) having what appears to be a screaming contest. Parents should teach kids to only do blood curdling screams when they're in danger "boy who cried wolf" like. Now I and maybe everyone else that had to hear this wont look when they're being kidnapped and maybe even will be happy to learn they had been so we wont have to hear that again.

one of the orthodox Jewish families in the cul-de-sac across the street from me runs an unlicensed day care. All summer long it's kids screaming out in the street. I'm far enough away that it's not unbearable but the folks who live next door are really unhappy.

the kids nextdoor to and across the street from the last place I lived loved to do that. Just stand outside and shriek as loud as they could. Usually in the early morning when I had been out late the night before.

There are plenty visible if the sky is clear and sun glints off of their shiny bodies...
Skyguide app lets you track them, I am sure many other apps as well. Iridium flares are cool if you can catch them.

One of my favorite things about being out there was how dark the sky was at night. I had never seen the Milky Way laid out across that sky like that before.

I guess that's another gripe of mine. Light pollution

Only time I've seen it was when we got stuck on a sandbar at dusk as the tide was going out. Ended up there for about 4hr until the tide came back in.

Not only could we clearly see the Milky Way, but we also got treated to the best shooting star any of us had ever seen.

I'd go camping in rural PA and could see sats flying by. I also remember reading a bunch of articles about astronomers being upset all of these starlink and starlink type sats will clutter up the sky as well as other articles claiming these sats will be giving the gift of light pollution to the entire world now.

Noticed this after getting my car washed yesterday:

Apparently when the rubber air hose they use to blow out the interior gets wet it leaves greasy black marks anywhere it touches.

It's why I'll never own anything other than a black interior.

If I can't see it, it doesn't exist

That's also why I painted my basement steps dark brown. No more dirt!

Ugh, my wife's first Forester had the light leather interior and it looked dingy almost immediately after we got it. We now have the brown leather which hides dirt better but still shows the black smudges.

Nom nom nom nom.

Pull out dishwasher rack to put away dirty dish. There, sitting in the rack, is the empty container I now distinctly remember putting the leftovers in.

But then that means...

"Honey, when was the last time we had spaghetti?"

(MrsF4): Oh, it was Easter weekend, because [our kid] was home.

So yeah, I just had month old spaghetti. Pray you never hear the nightmare noises rumbling from my gut.

My angus is not prepared. I'm pretty sure around midnight I'm going to be strapping myself down to the toilet.

Thank god tomorrow is a WFH day because I suspect I'm going to be spending about 8 hours on the can.

Thanks for reminding me of working at an Acura dealer. Back when all the ladies had to have jeans, that hadn't rinsed out the dye yet.

Light colored upholstery really looks great but man I do not want to deal with keeping it clean.

Guess I'm going to have to start checking expiration dates on every single thing before I buy it now.

The usual perishable stuff is a given.

I've occasionally found something that tastes off or bitter and realize that oops, this was expired when I bought it. Ok, one slipped by or something.

Yesterday I was with the wife picking up a few things. We had found 4 different products all over a year out of date.

Box of oatmeal, box of cereal, bottle of ketchup, and bottle of soda. It's not like we went specifically looking for expired things. This was just stuff we put in our basket and I just happened to glance at a date while I was standing around. And then started checking other stuff in our basket.

We're already in line to pay. My wife hands the cashier the four expired items and points out the dates are all way past. The cashier seems annoyed, but sets them aside.

Rather than hold up the line, I tell my wife to go ahead and pay and I'll go grab another set of those 4 items.

I return after a few minutes and just go thru the self checkout. As I'm walking past the register my wife went thru, I hear the cashier hand all 4 things to another employee and explain we left them because they were expired and instructed the guy to put them all back on the shelves.

A little while back at the grocery a lady was blocking the isle with her cart and bending over looking at stuff so I nicely said "excuse me" and pushed by. She popped up with an angry face and I thought "here we go" but she said "sorry! I just got to look at the dates of EVERYTHING..." she pulled something from the shelf "... EXPIRED..." pulls something else "...EXPIRED!!! all of this stuff is out of date!!!". We were in the snack isle I think looking at triskets so my guess is that people just weren't clearing out stock like normal due to pandemic shopping for mostly need to have stuff.

We have a contest for the employees every time we do a full store inventory.

$25 gift card for the employee that finds the most expired items, $10 for second place.

That's a wall that isn't worth beating your head against.

There isn't exactly a large pool of people, that give a ****, that are looking for $12 per jobs.

Not sure if it's all companies, but 4 years ago at my last job all bonus/gift/prizes were quietly added to the pay stub. Even $1 lotto scratchers were added and taxed.
