In case you're wondering what the rolling antilag is about, here's a graph to show you what it's actually doing.

It's plotted against speed, and it simulates a 50mph 3rd gear roll. The green is just a normal sweep, like I was cruising at 50mph and stomped on the gas. The red is with antilag. So getting ready for the race I got up to 50mhp, hit the gas and the anti-lag button. This is a relatively large turbo (T76) so it took ~6seconds to spool (and my RPM's were only 3500 which didn't help). Spooled ~15 psi (outa the peak 22), then let go of the button.

Now there are a few things that effect this spool time and what not, namely the RPM (and therefore speed) that you're going. So you'll have to play with it at different speeds and see how long it takes to spool, this way when it comes race time, you'll know how long in advance you'll need to prepare. IE for me if I'm doing a 3 honk race I want 2nd gear, 40mph roll, and I push the button on the first honk cause it takes no time at all to spool it. So a 40 roll is optimal for me, and I know this in advance so when I setup a race, that's what I'm looking for.

But when you let go of the button look what happens. +191hp over what you'd normally see, and +276 ft/lbs.

And if you look at the instantaneous tq applied it goes from 43ft/lbs (button in) to 553ft/lbs (button out) over the course of about 0.5 seconds. Quite a kick.

This is really cool. I think someone posted earlier about getting a datalog to see what the car is actually doing. Is there any way of getting that from a launch standpoint and a rolling?

Call it what you want, but this is genius. I personally have an AEM but I helped a friend put this on his SR55 powered 06 WRX that wouldn't built more than 3-4 psi with a 5k rpm 2 step. It quickly builds 16-17 psi now. I had to change one other table to get timing to go below 7*- Base timing idle minimum vehicle speed enable has 7* as the minimum value above 176* F coolant temperature. I set that to -15*. This table can be used to set the 'floor' for timing so that it won't run more negative than the value set in that table. Thanks UPPCOS for the contribution.

Ahhh, good call. Think I remember screwing with those too. As far as the logs go, it was actually on a customers car, which I don't have at the moment. I probably have logs, but I never name any of them, and there's literally 1000's of them with all the Subies we've tuned.

If I see it back in the near future for anything else, I'll try to get some logs.

First off, thank you for sharing this, very kind of you!

I tried this out on my RSTi yesterday and love it so far. I have 2 things to point out.

1: If you goto the autostore and buy a 5 pin relay, make sure it is the style with pins 87 and 87A! There is a 5 pin relay that offers 2 87 pins for hooking up extra lights, it will NOT toggle the IAT line off like desired. Some people may say this is an obvious thing, but it you are in a rush to try a new mod (like myself last night) and quickly buy something, it may be wrong lol... Just a FYI here

2: A relay reacts VERY slowly. Watch your IAT when you press the button, it will slowly creep to the -40. Another way to do this, and cheaper btw, is to just buy a Normally Closed Momentary Switch. Ditch the relay altogether and just intercept the IAT wire with the switch. When it isn't pressed it will be connected, and when you do hold it down it will cut the signal. Less parts, less wires and should work faster. I say should because I haven't tried this just yet, I just ordered the switch to test it out.

Thanks again for sharing, it is fun to play with and easy to setup! I am running a 02 WRX ECU setup and when looking at the MAF connector from the wire side, it is the far 2 left side wires (brown and green/red on mine) that are IAT. Cutting either works. Just another FYI for other people playing with this.

Sorry to flood but this is an example of the switch. $3 antilag?!?!?!

Even cheaper, $0.85! LOLOLOLOL

Is this to be used in conjunction with launch control? It says you have to have the throttle plate 100% open. How does that work for rolling anti lag? Are you depressing the clutch while rolling?

For the LC part, you just use LC like normal and then hold the button. Release on take off.

The rolling one Im still playing with a bit. But since it reacts a lil slower with the relay, I will press the button and then go WOT right after. In 3rd gear at 3k on my car it fully spooled. As soon as it did, I released the button and off I went. (I have a EJ257 with TD06 20G for reference)

I think you will find that it is not the relay that is causing that delay.

You think its the ECU gathering data slowly from the IAT? Hmmm. I have it setup so I can easily test it with just the switch vs the relay setup. Im curious to see if it's different now.

Regardless, this mod can still be done for almost nothing and less complicated still (not that it's actually complicated, just saying there is less involved with only using the right switch)

Correct, the ECU is getting the data fast, but the way it interpolates it is slower. The is because there is a built-in filter to do away with any noise jitter. Same thing with your fuel level gauge, it averages a reading over time so your gauge isn't jumping around when you go over bumps or take corners.

Insane, good call on the relay, I forgot to mention that.

We used a relay because you can trigger it with a button that's already in the car, like a horn, or brights switch, etc.

Well I know there's quite a few of you playing with this now, but still no donations. ;( So how about this instead, just hit us up and like our FB page, this way you can keep up to date with things we're doing and new releases. Fair enough?

I am running into an issue using this on an 06 STi. I have the switch working but the table for timing compensation activation isn't defined. I got it to work on a friends 06 WRX but the STi won't work without that table. Does anyone have a definition file for the A2ZJE11J STi that contains that table? Thanks!

Got one on the way home from a roll.

Upp, i will gladly send a donation. And the normally closed switch will be here tomorrow. Cheap mod is good but even cheaper mod is better still

How comfortable are you editing defs? You may be able to look in the WRX and copy/paste it into the STi. Of course you'll need to double check when you're done to make sure the values seem legit that are in there, and when you edit it that's actually what its doing (verify by logging).
