Exclamation Buyer/Seller guidelines.

Ok, here are a few guidelines to buying / selling on the private classifieds:

Buyer:
1)Always check the post count and/or date that seller registered.
2)Ask every possible question regarding background and contact info.
3)Search the posts made by this seller to get an idea of who they are and if they have sold before.
4)Always check profile of the seller.

Seller:
It is imperative that you understand that if you registered just to sell, you’ll have a hard time and need to do the following to help yourself:

1)Complete ALL fields in your profile.
2)When posting, please add all the contact info and as much info on item as possible.
3)If you post an item, please answer al questions that are asked, otherwise it will look shady.

A rating system is on the works!

If anyone has good guidelines that think could be added, post it here and if we like them, they are in.

Thanks,
Leo

Default re: Guidelines

The guidlines sound great and I had a thought (just a thought) for another you may consider adding. That would be references.

If a seller wishes to post, maybe there should be some way for the potential buyers to see some success stories so we know we won't be shafted.

I bring this up only because after years of using the internet, I just recently started online shopping. It is a very useful tool, but for those of us who are paranoid of getting screwed, some references may be helpful.

not so much a guideline, but a useful thing to have in the subject line would be the state you're in, just the abbr. is fine.

instead of starting a subject line w/"wtb ....." it should be "CA......" or whatever state you're in. cuz if you think bout it, this is a "wanted forum" everyone in here is "wtb"

^^ Yea organizing things is great. Other forums have it organized with your statecode HAVING to be first and it works quite well. Either that or just put where your location is in your profile or in the post.

How about a warning to the suckers selling their stock downpipes for cheap. You can take em to a metal recycler and sometimes get more money because of how high precious metal prices are right now.

why do I need 3 thread replies in order to be allowed to post for a WTB thread?

I'm a newbie to this site/forum and a new Impreza owner too. All I wanted was to ask if anyone has an OEM car interior item for sale without another act of congress...

YES we REALLY need to do the state code thing. Main thing this site needs for buyers and sellers is a way to look only in your area. Most of us don't want to travel to buy or sell a car and there are so many posts on national wtb and private car for sale site mixed in w/ parts its extremely time consuming to search all cars especially for sale hoping they aren't 3000 miles away let's do this!

This is funny. I believe this was about ideas for buying and selling. It flew like a lead balloon. The car crap is funny gunbroker.com most of the transactions are US Money Orders and I have had very few issues there.

I think mandatory pictures is a great idea but that should be put into effect for everyone. I mean if someone posts a picture that is a guarantee that they have the part right? LOL!

So there is a seller rating system now. There is a Vendor on here with a rating of 0. Is the turbotime vendor legit?

I wish wtb people would post that they got what they were looking for, so I don't use up precious PMs asking people about stuff they might already have, I post SOLD on all my listings to save people time, but don't think I've ever seen anyone do it on a wtb thread.
