Thanks for the offer of assist, but it's generally better to grab beta versions directly from us. That way if we discover an issue with a yet to be released version, we can easily follow up with anyone we know has that version.

If you were seeing 4.xx volts then there was something wrong with the reflash jumper wiring. The hot lead jumper circumvented the problem, but if you check the wiring you'll likely find the culprit.

The headlights shouldn't need to be on. You might be able to make it work that way, but if you contact us, we can correct the issue in the software. Typically a missing reflash adapter will cause a low voltage error and the high voltage error is something we can tweak in the software.

The 01/02 ECU uses the 3 pin blue reflash adapter, which is similar to the 6 pin 03-05 6 pin white reflash adapter.

Its an 02 JDM ECU in and 05 wagon though. So should I be going by the ECUs year or the cars year? It has the 05s wiring harness.

*edit so they are different plugs completely so thats not possible. Ill try the new BETA and shoot you questions if I still cant get it to work tonight.. Thanks.

The method you'd want is the wrx02. You'll have to compare the wiring diagrams to make sure the reflash adapter circuit is still jumpering the same conductors.

QUICK FIX - Contact Tactrix. Put in a ticket. They sent me a newer beta from what's posted on the site and it worked the first time instantly. I tried everything before...headlights, brights, radio, ac, lights, uninstalling, loading older version of ecuflash, compatibility modes...but I couldn't get the voltage below 13.10v. With this beta, I flashed the first time at 12.17v. The beta they sent me is version 1.44.4296 beta. I'm running Windows 8.1 x64 on an i7 HP 8460p.

If you have questions, let me know. I can dropbox the beta to you if for some reason you can't get something from Tactrix.
So yeah Ill also take the new version.

Hey chief, go ahead and PM mikeyPSF in this thread regarding this. Or put in a ticket to Tactrix support. They made a good point about me linking people the new beta. Getting it from them gives them more info for their engineers to make necessary changes and track certain trends. It doesn't help their troubleshooting if I send links directly to people. Sorry man.

If anyone needs this program you should go to Tactrix's support portal and submit a ticket. They'll get back to you really quickly. Here's the website:

https://tactrix.zendesk.com/home

You'll probably have to make a quick account with your email address.

Hey man, I just emailed you guys, looks like I have the same problem. 13.2 volts regardless of charge or load state. Could you send me whatever magic bullet you have come up with to cure it?

Default same issue

i am having the same problem, voltage output shows 12.32 in romraider logger and when i hooked up my multimeter it read 12.31, yet ecuflash said it was 13.02, 13.31, 13.01 etc etc for 5 tries until it dropped below 12v on romraider and then it worked

i am running the beta from the site 1.44

is this normal or is there a fix for this now?

I had a similar issue that was causing me headaches. In the end I found it to be the drivers for the cable. If I installed one set of drivers(I can get the exact drivers when I get home) Rom Raider would connect and log just fine but I would get the voltage error trying to flash the ECU. If I installed the other set of drivers ECU Flash would work but Rom Raider wouldn't get any data. I just kept going back and forth with the drivers to do what I needed. Real PITA.

Hmmm...I haven't had anyone contact me recently with that particular issue. Is it the newest versions of both EcuFlash and RomRaider? Are you installing drivers separately from the EcuFlash installation (which includes the current drivers)?

I just had so many problems with that stupid voltage thing. Different laptops, different cars, always the same voltage error while trying to flash a map. In the end I had to use my cobb to flash a stock map.Needles to say I lost a whole day on it.

Used tactrix is like $85-100 now

Cobb AP V2 can be had for $250 and it's worth every penny. Everything works smooth, live tuning(once you try it you won't go back), no constant connection problems, no voltage problems with flashing maps. I mean, tactrix is ok if you work on Subarus and need to tweak something small from time to time but for my personal car I will never go opensource.

Good point. If they can add live tuning to Carberry I would be all over it! Otherwise I'll be saving for a Vipec
