Come Wednesday there will be a WRB 2017 STI in Limited trim with 3100 miles sitting on Seekins lot in Fairbanks. If EJ's are your thing, go and get it.

Truckville. After I escape Alaska and the 2.4lDIT engine has time to be figured out I'll see about giving Subaru another go.

Looking forward to watching what Subaru does to the STI in the next few years. I like the 5 hp bump for '19. I want to make sure I get the rumble when I get the next one.

5 years with a car? Preposterous!

Hold on to that thing as it's probably a collectible now.

Yes sir, we plan on keeping it for the long hall . My son can start driving in 2 years....

It's officially the longest car we've owned . The second longest is our 07 STi with 4 years and 8 months.

Still here. People are using bookface. Social media took over. How's Japan?

What is the name of the bookface group?

Japan is awesome! I just looked through the sales forum and saw a lot of the OG guys have sold their cars. :-(

I don't remember. There were admins that were making it, you had to be active to not be removed from the group. I think it's Alaska Subaru owners club, I think.
I traded in my STI for a truck fully committed to getting another one when I return to Alaska. Currently stationed at Offutt.

Yeah I traded mine for a Jeep back in the day. Got here in Oki and couldn't not get another.

I'm still around, Brando! Currently own a 17 Impreza Sport hatch after trading in my BRZ. After moving back from New York I wanted something more mature to hold me over until the STI is updated again.

Good to see you posting! I was actually thinking about you last week. Kinda random.

How are you liking the new Impreza?

T. R. O. Y.

Thought about QwikEVO too, and a few others. I'm not one to dwell on the past much, but sometimes everything hits me all at once, especially when Anchorage weather is a certain way.

Impreza is... fine. It handles RIDICULOUSLY well even with all-season tires. All the passengers really like it. I just wish it had either the FA25 or FB25 option rather than so much focus on fuel-efficiency. It's attractive enough and has cool gadgets. Very solid da for the next performance vehicle, whenever that happens.

How many kids you got? Do any of them look like me?

KIDDING!

*peeks out from behind the corner* did someone says roast beef?! It’s been a few months since I’ve been on here. I poke around the technicals every once in a while to troubleshoot my 09 hatch i’m driving now. I miss the STI but if I can’t land a job back down here then I’ll stick with the hatch; or possible step even further down into a base model impreza hatch...or maybe a civic.....

I told my son (who misses the STI a lot and teared up when we traded it in) if anything severely changes in the STI (as in not offer an STI anymore) that we'd be at the dealer that night.
How's Alaska? I miss home, A LOT.

Alaska’s pretty darn good. Weather has been off and on; 80 for 2 days and then windy/rainy/just plain bland the next few days. I’ll never get tired of this place. Crime is up in Anchorage as well as drug abuse....maybe they correlate . Went fishin a few weeks ago and started filling up the freezer; was going to go this past weekend but the boat captain threw his back out. When are you coming back???

There's always a place for you here. I still hate Alaska, but I'm a traveler and Big City guy. It's just easier to be in Alaska for the moment, but eventually I'll make my way back out.

Last week was summer. Prior to and probably from here on out it'll just be suck.

I did help my friends catch some fish in Seward last week. Weather was so nice that I couldn't refuse to get out of town for a day. Caught 5 silver salmon and 1 beautiful dolly.

I'm glad that the earth has so many different places to see and so many things to do. I'll be driving to New York in September and coming back to Alaska southward (Arkansas, Texas, Southern California). I'm happiest when I'm not in Alaska.

I'm also scared that Brando has offspring.

Well I'm at 16 years and 3 months, we'll be back permanently in less than 4 years. For a visit, we wont be going past Ketchikan as all my family is there except for my sister who is still in Anchorage. Dreaming of a house in ANC but Wasilla is looking better and better every year.

I'm the opposite of you, I'm the happiest home, in Alaska. I do however like how we've been traveling during my time in the Air Force.

I actually went for a bike ride near and around Taku Lake. It was exquisite.

If pretty much every day of summer in Alaska were like this, and the winters were consistently snowy, I'd be more inclined to stay.

Take whatcha can. Leave when ya can.
