My symptoms have been reducing day by day, and they're over now. I'm lucky.

The Sealion's sudden concern for 10k children dying abroad and thinking it's only the US's fault would be a bit more convincing if A: The US was forcing other countries into lockdown and B: He showed even a slight bit of interest in human life when it's not related to COVID.

To put it in perspective, 10,000 children and 25,000 people total die of starvation every day, an increase of 10k more a month is tragic, but not surprising. It's also probably the most well announced crisis in the world, as we've failed to resolve the food distribution inequality for decades.

So either he's full of ****, and doesn't give a **** about these people except as a talking point, or he's about to start trolling 30X more when he realizes the daily count even without COVID.

And don't you wait until he finds out that well over 100 million people will be displaced due to climate change in the next 30 years!

He's also still implying that hospitals can just "choose" a PCR cutoff to get the test results they want... Which is a lie.

Every thing he says is in bad faith.

The End.

I feel like I am in a predicament. Thanksgiving dinner is just with the GF and her Parents.

My sister is just going through a breakup and is living alone in the mountains. She tested positive for Covid back on Nov 9th. Didn't have too many symptoms and did loose her case and smell. All her symptoms are are gone and she has her taste and smell back. CDC says its fine to interact with her.

Forcefed - whats your verdict?

CDC is probably right. All the early guidance back in April/May was to avoid her for the next 60 days just to be safe. But now? In November, nearly December, 2020? In the US with cases everywhere surging? **** it. She's about as safe as possible, your risks are elsewhere.

Wrong. I brought it up in March when lockdowns first occurred. To be specific, I referenced the huge turning point the world reached in 2018, whereby for the first time in human history, more people were leaving poverty than entering it, and how these measures were going to reverse 20k years of progress.

This is not the only context I've mentioned this in, either.

Nope. I never implied or said who is choosing that cutoff. Reality: it doesn't matter who, it matters that it is happening, against the recommendation of actual professionals who do this for a living. The cutoff is set too high, and it's calling people who aren't infective as covid. That's utter bull****.

Now out of more necessity than my constant alerts to my family thanksgiving dinner together is off the menu.
BIL started feeling crappy last thursday(slight fever) and a positive test next next day. He’s a bar/restaurant owner in nyc so yeah his exposure to people is not good just trying to keep things afloat with the business. My parents help with the baby sitting(x3) while sister does her school teaching.
Parents got tested Saturday and results on Sunday, both negative but still self monitoring due to lapse in exposure/incubation times.
Sister and kids got in for tests on Sunday. Sister came back negative, haven’t heard about the kids yet. But they all are feeling fine.
BIL has been quarantining at our shore house in the mean time. Mild fever comes and goes, loss of taste(didn’t particularly mention smell) but seems to being doing ok for the most part thankfully. I’ll probably pick up some kind of decent home cooked style turkey meal and drop it off for him on Wednesday night or Thursday.
I’m hoping that is the extent of it. Stay safe out there people.

I agree with the CDC guidelines; 10+ days out from a positive test, no remaining fever symptoms (without medicine) should be safe as far as we know for a mild, non-hospitalized, case. That's my non-clinician opinion, FWIW.

She started feeling sick on the 5th. So it'll be 3 weeks out from it on Thanksgiving. A little nervous with being inside this time of year but she is acceptable to interact with according to CDC guidelines.

I'm so over this ****. I can't even get a damn Xbox/Playstation to keep some sanity when we go back into Lockdown.

The data I've seen indicates mild cases stop shedding virus w/in 14 days of onset of disease. There is no absolute guarantee in this game, but I see no reason why you shouldn't follow the CDC guidelines in your family's case.

If she had been hospitalized, it's a different story, but from your description she had a mild case, and probably cleared it in the typical ~10 days.

OTOH, you better make sure your GF and her parents are comfortable with the situation too.

Right-O. Always have one 12 or 9 pack of TP in reserve, noticed the depletion happening, so I just bought one more pack. Same normal brand.

Also got that spare pack of paper towels. Instead of automatically reaching for those, though, I'll probably consider the dish drying towel or spare napkins from delivery/takeout as first choice.

The GFs parents are terrified of this thing. They said it was ok though, and same with the GF.

Part of me wonders if I should just do something at the house with my sister and let the GF do dinner with her parents.
