Wayfair has lots of options, and for most of them, they provide exact dimensions.
Important when you are trying to fit AVR equipment on it. I think I ended up with the Amazon one because it was cheaper than Wayfair. And I had already used up the 20% discount coupon. |

My TV stand is from Ikea. I am happy enough with it and it certainly wasn't $1k.

I have a dark wood IKEA TV stand I bought several years ago when we were in the previous house. It works, but I am planning on moving the (larger) TV to the corner of the room for reasons. I had planned to use specific KALLAX shelving from IKEA. I have two different styles right now in the LV and would reconfigure to add the TV in the corner, requiring I get another one of those specific KALLAX shelving, which is now all but out of stock in the east coast.
I am now having to look at other options still utilizing what I have and what I can get from IKEA, currently. MFL. Kicker is, when I was in IKEA few months ago, they had it in stock, but I was too lazy to get it then. edit: It is this one sitting horizontally. |

I always had massive 80-110W/channel receivers that never fit normal spaces and needed extra space for cooling. In the golden age also had 300 disk dvd/cd carousels. None of the damned tv stands anywhere ever worked. Kind of outgrew component racks after bachelorhood. Now I just want something in the corner that doesn't attract attention and mostly matches the furniture.

After having a summer full of delicious homegrown tomatoes, the switch back to flavorless store bought is quite jarring.

Anyone else trying to sell stuff on Craigslist notice that the email relay function seems to be having issues?

It may be, but I already have one of these and need another one to meet it in the corner of the room to create an L then plan in putting the TV on top of both of them at the corner. So they have to be the same. This particular shelf is higher than the regular two-cube high KALLAX, so I cannot use another unit from the series. Also, it has wider openings t accommodate AV equipment.
See in the image, the new shelf would go to the right of this shelf unit. I will move the tall unit to the end of the new unit. I may have a different plan now, though. If I cannot find a new one of these, I think I will-use the other one on its side and get a matching size 4-cube unit to create the L in the corner, then put the unit in the picture next to the 4-cube unit at the other wall. I use my phone as an alarm clock and when I turn it "off" (instead of snooze) it is supposed to launch a Google Assistant routine - turn on some lights, read texts I missed overnight, tell me about my appointments for the day, etc.
Man but it sucks at doing this. More specifically it worked flawlessly for several months and then it just sorta started ****ing up. It seems to randomly pick which things it wants to do...like there's 5 things and sometimes it does 1, 2, and 3 - sometimes 1, 3, and 5 - sometimes 2, 3, and 4 - etc. It's not a big deal...it costs me nothing and if it doesn't do all the things it's fine...it's more of a "hey, that's cool" feature. Well, except that it's not cool because it ****s up so often. |

AI needs to feel gratification, too. My gripe: I took vacation this week, and now we're getting two straight days of rain. |

Oddly enough I say thank you to it all the time. It's one of the few things I regularly communicate with these days. Holy **** my life is a mess.

I love fresh asparagus, but when I eat it, it makes me pee like a racehorse.

I'm on a call and I can hear my coworker furiously typing away and clicking her mouse as hard as possible. It's legit making my blood pressure rise. I think I have misophonia.

Joy: city repaving of the neighborhood underway.
Gripe 1: They started today. Gripe 2: their "no parking signs" have a guesstimate of 11/24-12/15. Gripe 3: Mrs is freaking out that we'll be trapped. I had to go park one of the cars in a free zone. Gripe 4: She scheduled a grocery pickup in less than an hour. I may have to haul a ****ton of T-Day groceries over a block. Edit: forgot to add - there's only one way in and out of our little enclave. Last edited by El Wray; 11-24-2020 at 12:10 PM. |

Could go in the car repair thread but too.
Gripe 1: U-Joint is going out on the Jeep. It cost me $200 less to do it than a shop so I go buy all the tools and the part I need. Had to go to 6 different stores Gripe 2: Jeep is torn apart, U-Joint is out of the axle and I realize they sold me the wrong part. Turns out in 2013, the JK sport got the same U-Joints as the rubicon. The parts catalog didn't know that. Gripe 3: I have the jeep torn apart on sunday, but the store doesn't open until Monday Gripe 4: Grabbing a snack in the GF's car, the rear tire blows out the sidewall. Gripe 5: I put the spare on while our food is getting cold. Limp it the few hundred yards to get it home. After inspection, the spare tire is about 1.5" shorter than the other OEM wheels. Can't drive it at all, as its an AWD car. So now both vehicles are down and we have no groceries in the house. Did I mention I have no way to swap out the Jeep part Joy 1: Talked to 4WP (where I bought the U-Joint) and the delivered me the proper part Gripe 6: Putting the axle back together, the joint doesn't fit. The joint has this big raised circle in the middle. It made the joint 1/4" wider than my old one. That prevented me from being able to slide in the new joint. My fix was using the old joint with the new caps. I didn't really have any other options. Gripe 7: Nissan of American is trying to tell me to pound sand about them putting a spare too small in the car. Reason why? The car was bought at CarMax and they can't verify that it was the original spare. Gripe 8: We now need to get the car flat bedded to the tire shop to get 4 new tires on it (It needed new tires). Its just an added hassle to get that scheduled. |

I dunno, my parents bought a 1996 Grand Cherokee with the V8 new. It came with a smaller spare, although they could have optioned a full sized. Jeep issued some sort of directive/ recall whatever and they were given a full sized spare.
