FAQ/WELCOME thread submissions here.
Ill leave this thread open for all
Please keep the discussion limited to what to add to the Welcome/FAQ thread subie kid has already created. This way its easier for any mod who checks this to add the applicable information to that thread. thanks Jay

Suspension...
If someone with first hand knowledge could come up with a list of what does/doesn't fit would very helpful. ie: WRX/Impreza suspension fits on these models of legacy with these mods. Something along those lines. Also, a list to go along with this regarding curb weights. I know that many of the members on here have lists like these on their computers, and this could be a great place to post them. I'd do these things but I don't really have the means, and so many of the suspension threads are full of false info it isn't really "safe" to search and compile such a list. .02 Jared |

I'd like to see a thread which we can use as a reference. So we can see if a paticular usdm or jdm part would fit on our cars. fenders, hoods, engine accesories, rear diff to trannys, spindles. ex 94 jdm hood will fit a 95 usdm legacy. ect. or even the impreza body pannels.

how much will the outbacks be included in all this? a suspension write-up including the outback line would help out alot more. i really dont see why the legacy and outback sections are seperate, but thats a whole different post.

well, in truth they are not really different. The only real diff is the outback springs are taller and the outback struts are also 2" taller. other than that they are the same. I.E. - swap a legacy suspension onto an outback = instant 2" drop. I'm writing up what i know about spring rates and strut rates and drops.. blah..

I'd like to know what suspension parts can be used between Outbacks/Legacies and WRX Imprezas!
I want to get some strut tower bars, but have a hard time finding some for my Outback wagon. =I |

I have been able to find one place that sells the Cusco front strut bar, but they want way too much for it. $250. I know I should get the rear sway bar done and I know where to get that at. Just wanted to see if I can stiffen up the chassis without having to break the bank. |

We could put a link to ScoobyMods under the general section.
ScoobyMods I was also thinking about doing a single thread about JDM parts, and then having several links inside of it to parts specific threads. |

Can't we clean out those dead "passed" threads, and the really outdated ones, like the "Here's your chance" thread?

Vehicle:1999 Legacy 2.5 GT I want JDM WRX! |
Wow, I cant help but feel this is partially in response to me asking for first hand accounts of what people in this forum have done. I do search plenty, and I know a lot of the options out there from READING. What I also know is information conflicts a lot, so finding someone with first hand knowledge on what works is a GOOD thing.
If this is totally unrelated, heres my response to some major bull****. |

I had done some research on this, but the problem is everything I read tells me something different. As my knowledge stands right now... RS Suspension can be used in our legacies (try to come close to matching the year). Older outbacks fit older legacies, but the new beefed up outbacks wont. WRX can fit, but it isnt that different from the GTs and I dont know about STi If Im wrong, correct me. But thats the info as the result of MANY searches. |

The recent revival of interest in getting more/better info packed into an FAQ has led us to this point. WallyKincaid, you're not the only one who's asked those sorts of questions and gotten that response, but now you have a better understanding of how confusing it is right now. We're working on making this info more condensed and accurate, using the help of this forum.
The best advice for suspension is simply getting Legacy parts |

How about another post that has "Previous FAQ items" in the general section. The only bad thing is that if you get too many windows you start to have trouble navigating and findind things. |

Since there seems to be a lot more BEs around here lately I've been getting a bunch of PMs about part numbers for my suspension setup. This thread would be a good addition to the FAQ since it has the PNs for everything needed. .02.
