I think the rods do have oil squirters, though I'd need to check.

It is a unique block though the engine code is EJ257.

Semi-closed deck and cast-in, increased height main bearing journals, etc etc.

It is probably the most advanced block FHI has produced (just my opinion).

You sure about the oil squirters? I didnt think it did.

As for it being the most advanced block... um... I disagree.

I think the ej207 is a stornger block, from whats be put out about the ej257 the internals are the best part and they are what people will change. There is nothing great about the block itself and has been said to only be good for 400hp. But only time will tell. Ill stick with the ej22,ej207 much higher reving motors.

Well I'm not sure about the oil squirters, that's why I said I'd need to check.

Have you seen pics or in person the mainshaft journals and the changes there in the EJ257 block?

I don't know anything.

All I know is currently one of the fastest track driven WRX in the world is the JUN yellow hyper lemon thing, and that car have a 2.5L motor. I don't know if that really tell us if the EJ257 is a good motor.

ADDICT

The JUN 2.5 is "unrelated" to the 2.5 STi.

Ya JUN is not using our deck or internals so...

This thread covers just about all the info you would want to know about the deck, I didnt see anything about oil squiters but I might have missed it. Ive only seen pics, and I do think its a good block just not the best. For me the higher revs the better and I dont see this block doing it for me. But thats just me
