Default VOLK wheels on STi

I have been looking for insformation on fitament everywhere. I have been to Rays site as well as Mackin Industries. Neither is especially clear about clearence over the Sti's brake calipers. I have contacted Importhookup.com and their wheel source but he has not called me back. I am looking for the Volk LE37T or the TE37 in the 17*7.5. I will go larger but only if I need to. I am also interested in the Gram Lights 57S in 17*7.5. If anyone has any info at all or better yet a picture and a definite answer please post here or email me. Thanks

I'll answer this for importhookup.

-LE37T will not fit over Brembos neither 17" nor 18"
-TE37 will fit with the size of 17"x8" +44 offset
-Gram Lights 57S will fit with the size of 17"x8.5" +50 offset

Check with Tim from importhookup for prices.

All you need to do is go down to your local Volk dealer and get a Volk catalog. They call out every volk wheel that fits "Imprezza with Brembo Caliper" in it with a black square. CE27s also fit in the 17*8 (44 or 48ET..can't remember). My TEs were noticably lighter than the BBSs. I would say about 5lbs lighter per wheel/tire combo because the potenzas are also very heavy.

Default Few more questions

Glad to see the pics of te37 on a STi. Anyone seen any GL57S on one yet. To get the 17*8's on there did you have to roll the fenders at all and would you have to for the 17*8.5? Again, any and all info would be appreciated. Thanks

No rolling for 8"s, but probally for 8.5"s. I had my rear tire rub the inner fender once durring a very hard turn with 4 people in the car, but no rub during hard driving with 3 people.

Great looking wheels. Blue and silver looks great. Not so sure about the Goodyear Eagles. How do you find them on the STI in comparison to the Bridgestone 070's?

Actually they are quite a bit better. Supperior wet grip, 2lbs lighter/tire, slightly less dry grip (3-5% less IMO), but where these tires shine is tread wear and low noise. These will last you two sets of 070s.

Check them out here:

FYI, they are tireracks' #1 rated max performance tire in the 225-45-17 size

how would you know that the badyears will last longer? Last I checked no one has worn out a set of 070's and not for a lack of trying. I have 8K miles and 6 dry autoX's on mine and they are still well above 50% usable tread.

And sorry as good as that model maybe, I've gotten the short end of the badyear stick too many times to make me want to ever give them a chance again.

Default still more questions

why did you still go with the 225's when you went up to the 8's. I was thinking that I would go 235s and on the 8.5's to go 245. Anybody tried those BFGoodrich T/A KD. Seems like a great tire. Thanks

They are made in Germany which means that they don't have the usual Goodyear quality. I haven't really been brand biased when it comes to tires though because every company makes a real crapper of a tire that is way over priced. I just usually go by what tire rack has for reviews and ratings based on how much I want to spend.
