The diagram seems to be for a two input one output unit unit like the AVO. I have seen installs where the two inputs in the diagram are "Y" together prior to going into the catch can and the output of the catch can goes into the input of the engine. That was for a one input one output catch can like the Cusco or Greddy unit. Some have suggested that this is incorrect. I really don't see the difference between the gases mixing in the y or in the can. There are also some that install the can for the rocker cover breather tube only and letting the PVC vent to atmosphere. I don't think that this is a really good idea as you can gum up your engine compartment with vented air from PVC. Of course the overkill would be a can in both path. That's probably just a waste of $. Hope this helps. |

Alright, I've been searching around.....and I have found zip.
What are the great benefits to the oil catch can? What piping are you installing it on? I understand the concept, just not the application. Thanks guys |

It prevents oil vapors or oil blow by from going back into the
intake and leaving a thick film of oil everywhere, in your turbo, the intercooler, intake manifold. Worse yet, it starts to go through vacuum lines and dirties up the sensors and boost gauge... Why do manufactures route it back into the intake if it is harmful? For emission purposes. All in all, it's not THAT harmful, but it's just a good preventative measure to use. Matt |
