Almost 100% chance I'll be out to watch the next one, if I can find it (location).

To expand on XT6Wagon's point, the stock class drivers in regions where there is a concentration of national champions are usually outstanding drivers. They are also very very familiar with their vehicles.

We our just getting to know our vehicles and still running stock street rubber. My guess is that once XT6Wagon, T-Wrx, myself, and others get this car figured out, we should be able to post some rather respectable placings.

A-Stock in particular has some fast drivers at nationals. Hell, the damn PAX for A-Stock is higher than E-Street Prepared. That's what all of us are up against. practice practice practice.

renichms - The track is fairly easy to get to. Off of 459 at Derby Parkway (used to be a horse track, hence the name). Gate A I believe (Not the main gate). I'll see if I can dig up some better directions.

Hey Trbo Dad,

So how did you do at the last autocross with your Evo? Good for comparison sake.

I second the "getting to know the car" bit. Heck I got the STi only 2 days before, and didn't drive it at all the day before the event. (had to go get teh wagon back from the dealer 200 miles away). So 260miles, 0 of them with any real "agression" as far as driving.

Plus I found out the tire pressures were WAY off 1/2 way through the first event. 36hot in front, 35 hot in back.

My excuse for the second one? I sucked at that course pure and simple. Car was great, but I couldn't pull it together. Look at the times and you should see this. lots o cones on runs 1-3, a no cone "driving miss dasy" run 4th. And a "cane it" run with "driving miss dasy" in the parts where I collected cones or the 5th. Still a messy run, but no cones.

Have either of you decided yet what tire pressure you like for running with the stocks? (I know you'll need to do it all over with the R-compounds, but this could give us all a good starting point.)

At the start. J

Trbo-Dad

Were you running on the stock rubber? I perused the results and it seems that the Sti and Evo are going to be really good battle! ...Now that's me trying to use multiple result listings, comparing times of evo's and sti's with the other class winners...taking the differences, making an educated guess, then getting another beer from the fridge.

Geezer -- I used the stock pressures as my starting point on the stock tires, and did NOT have to adjust at all. It was good enough for the AS win, and there was no rollover onto the sidewalls...in fact, it used exactly all the tread...no less, no more...and thosee pressures are 38F, 34R when I checked.

That's amazing! I've never heard of a "street" tire that will run the same pressure on the course -- amazing sidewalls.

Pleased. J

I was running 36/30 hot, would have preffered 38/32 as the lower pressure rear pressure was to reduce the push in the long 180 right hander. Fuel and water load WILL affect the rear pressure needed on this car

The lack of roll-over on the sidewalls could be attributable to the suspension geometry combined with the DCCD doing it's thang. Since I had virtually no push except for once, probably not a whole lotta chance of "Sidewallin'" the tire. The real guess is going to be what pressures to run with R-Comps

I was running between 1/2 and 3/4 tank of gas. Half full IC Sprayer resevoir. Would spray down the intercooler after each run, and prior to staging for my next run. Ran the damn thing empty!
