You didn't read the thread, did you... This piece was methodically tested to work without a tune do to the MAF placement and other flow characteristics. I have the AEM, there is a significant difference.

It's tempting as hell, what if you're tuned? Would I have to get another revision?

There is very little similar about the two... Besides being intakes.

Listen to you kids arguing about a tube with a filter on the end. The Perrin design is different in the sense that they figured out a smarter layout with a bigger radius and less bend angle. It should provide reduced restriction in comparison. It's also cheaper to make. As far as MAF placement, to try and match the OEM intake seems dubious. Airflow is a funny enough thing that odd effects probably pop up in the factory MAF curve, making the calibration unique to that design. No one is matching it. It's more worthwhile to make sure the MAF gets consistent airflow to make scaling the MAF curve easier.

Mine is coming in this Friday. I'll chime in on the sound after it's installed, considering that's the reason I bought it.

Any worry of water going down the intake tube during heavy rain storms? I guess I haven't seen many intakes go upwards like this.

For water to be a concern you really need to be submerged. Id worry less about this design actually.

Ordered mine from a vendor yesterday, comes tomorrow!

I guess I was just thinking the other designs might allow water to naturally drain out as there is more level area by the filter where this just angles downward. I'm sure it's a slight risk regardless.

Let us know how it goes. Im rather curious of another vendors claims to making an intake work on a stock car.

You would have a lot bigger problems if water got up that high!
The intake is in the same location as the OEM one, so nothing to worry about
