No prob. If I ever get my freaking side markers I'd post back and tell people if the 194 bulb fits in an '03 Impreza side marker(which calls for a 168).

I did happen to forget that huh? Anyone know what bulb it is, and I will add it.

194 bulbs are the same as a 168 bulb. The only difference is the 194 is a little bit brighter bulb. The size is the same.

by brighter does that mean warmer and/or more wattage? Any problems being used in the side marker with such close proximity to the plastic?

168 bulb I believe is 2.5 or 3 watts while the 194 is 5 watts. There are no problems with heat that I have ever heard of or experienced. But I don't have side markers either. (I wish I did) But I have a very good feeling that there would be no heat damage at all.

could you please update this post for the 02-03 wagon. The rear turn signals are the 7507 bulb and not the 1156 (front). They're similar bulbs except the fitment is off. I ended up buying the 1156 and not being able to return them. I hope this will help future bugeye owners.

Don't understand why the rear turn indicator bulb for 02-04 is such a mystery.
The good bulbs are Koito (made in Japan) and are PY21W (7507). Most auto parts stores and even the stealership deny that as a valid part number. Yet, when paying $6.00 ea. for PN: 84920FA020, guess what. It IS NOT an 1156, pins are offset. Also, stay away from Sylvania amber's, when they light up, they are nearly clear, and short lived.

great thread, but also one of the best reasons why this site needs generational/chassis code car sections.

the bulk of the information is 2006 and prior, but you don't know that until you click the thread and start looking for information.
