Default One off zinc plating, any shops that do it?

Sorry if it's the wrong forum, just trying to find a place to zinc and chromate a part or two. My fuel hanger is getting modified and I want it to be as good or better at resisting corrosion than the oem coating, especially since I will be running high ethanol fuels. It's one of my daily vehicles and I am wanting it to be one of the parts I don't have to worry about.

I'm not trying to start an argument or discussion on the validity of the subject, just trying to find a place to do the work.

There are so many companies to plate and coat metals, but most of them do work on an industrial scale. Their sites are not set up for consumer level inquiries and I've already wasted time asking a few.

If you know of a company who will accept work from consumers with a low quantity order, down to one piece, please let me know. If I can't find a legitimate company to do the job, I will build my own zinc plating setup. Was trying to avoid doing it for one or two pieces though.

Thanks for reading and for any help.

Not sure if the catalog is still around, but for a lot of industrial stuff, I used to use Thomas Register, sorta a yellow pages for industrial supplies and related companies.
Maybe look online and see what they show locally to you and/or anywhere?
They had a US catalog as well as regional versions.

there's no doubt little platers that do small jobs
For one piece you'll end up paying a minimum charge of $80-100 bucks, but it's that or get set up yourself.

I don't live near you but I use several platers that would do that for sure.
That can be tough to find online because places like that don't typically get work from the general public, but if you have local machine shops somebody there will know of platers.

Thanks. Been 15 years or so since I used it, I have a regional print copy from....welllll......likely 25 years ago. I haven't been in facilities for quite a while, but still use some of my old suppliers.

I found some DIY setups online for zinc plating rusty gas tanks. I was shocked how easy it was. Some washing soda, some plated chain and a battery charger and I was in business.

I have supplies for plating and for chromate dip, just haven't had the motivation or time yet. Hopefully it's worth the effort, especially since I decided to run a surge tank, which makes the AN fitting mods to the fuel hanger not especially helpful at this stage.

Manco plating in newark nj does yellow and black zinc plating... Yellow zinc is best for corrosion resistance.

I found a place in Houston that does electro-less plating and they did it in nickel. The plate goes inside every surface, so no chance of corrosion. Electroplating can't get inside all of the tubes and fittings, so this ended up being my choice. Thanks for the suggestions.

Crappy pics, I had better but somehow can't find them. It looks really cool in person, similar to oem zinc plating but a slightly different color and it's completely covered.

Call your nearest machine shop, I bet they know all the local platers.
