Man I'm envious! Outstanding commitment my friend! I am picking up an 04 2.5 TS today. I bashed my front end in on my 05 wrx wagon similar to the 07 donor you have. Not gonna be able to do the amount you have, but my motor is ending up in the TS for sure. Hope to see spring bring you to a great conclusion!

I also apologize for such a late reply, I currently have the 07 wrx ecu and wiring harness in the car. At a later date i may try to run the vipec and built davcs engine. At this point i just want to get the thing running and enjoy it a bit first.

Back from the dead. I had some help to install the ej255 engine and my old act clutch and flywheel from the ej205. We got the radiator in and plumbed, a vf turbo from an sti, i forget which turbo it is. I still have a ways to go. I will update with pics and more details to come.

I'm on a search for a driveshaft for this six speed swap. I believe the one i need is the sti one, the two sets of wrx driveshafts are to long, and the bit about i must have tossed them out some time ago. How do you loose two whole driveshafts anyway? The distance between the output of the transmission and the input of the differential flange is 55 inches. Since the shaft goes into the transmission a few inches its total length is longer, and the service manual only gives the joint to joint length.

So i talked with an ebay parts shop an they recommended based on my transmission and differential, to use the sti v7 (MY02-03) driveshaft. Go figure. I should have it in about a week and a half.

Small update, i ordered some coilovers to replace the tired original struts. The front top hats had cracked as well from sitting.

Today i was able to get the driveshaft installed mostly. It did not come with the bushings for the carrier bearing in the middle. They are not serviceable says the stealership, so i found some billet aluminum ones that are way overkill.

I also had help to separate the turbo exhaust housing and replace it with a new one. The old one had a huge crack in it, not the hairline one usually on the wastegate.

Then i wrapped my header, uppipe and downpipe with heat wrap. The header and up pipe were already ceramic coated but i am worried about melting my undertray and all the wires and hoses near the downpipe now.

My ISC suspension is in, i hooked up all the oil and waterlines on the turbo, the upper coolant tank and radiator. I still have the vaccum and breather hoses to do along with hooking up the pipes for the front mount interfooler.

The air intake also needs put on. Then i can flush the fuel system and hook it up to the engine fuel rails.

I think I am getting close to being able to try and start the car.

Default Still at it

Getting serious, want to get this running by the end of the month. Its been a year and its been hard to find the time. I ordered an access port yesterday. It should be here in a few days. I got my driveshaft bushings and the bolts. There is a whole list of things to do so will try to get moving on it this weekend.
