2013 STi Transmission and Diff Service
Hello all,
Apologies if a thread exists for this question, if so, please direct me there, but I am completing my 2013 STi’s first front diff, transmission, and rear diff fluid change and have ordered my fluids so far. The question I am asking today is what tools exactly will I need to loosen drain plugs, fill plugs, any other hardware to tackle this tasks as I am finding very mixed answers online. Thank you in advance have a wonderful day all.

Your car does not have front diff fluid, it shares the fluid with the trans. What tools you need should be found online easily as these things ain't changed in decades.
https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=995498 and that forum is where all the answers will be and also watch some youtubes on it before doing it. Those rear diff bolts can be a whore so have an impact or learn that you can put a breaker bar in plug pointing at the 4-5 oclock position while on a jack, the slowly lower the car on the bar using its weight to break the plug free. |

Important note- remove the fill plugs FIRST to make sure you can. You don't want to remove the drain plug and empty the fluid only to find the fill plug is seized in place.
Unless you enjoy taking the bus for a while- |
