Dumb question but I have I ask, I'm assuming you're on some kind of engine management?

And I have a catalyst code think its p0420 been awhile sense I've got it checked but I want to upgrade my exhaust with high flow cats and a cat back exhaust but I want to get rid of my cel at the same time, any ideas will be much appreciated, thanks.

Start with ruling out the basics. Vacuum leak, Leak around injectors seal. Leaking injector. Dirty MAF sensor, etc. Start with the simple stuff then move to the more complex.

I have a 2004 WRX with a version 8 JDM sti ej207. I purchased the motor from JDM Racing Motors (highly recommended), and they included the wiring for the AVCS. It is pinned out exactly as they say to have it, but I'm getting a flashing CEL before I even start the car. After about 5 miles it turns solid and gives a p1308 code. It seems obvious that it's a wiring issue but I have checked the pinout a dozen times. I'm hoping there is an ej207 guru out there that has seen this and knows exactly what it is. TIA!
Other wise it is installed and runs beautifully.

Another tidbit to this is I'm only making about 7psi of boost. I haven't rev'd it past about 6k,
but I don't want to ring it out until I solve the CEL issue.

Code: None at first only a constantly flashing CEL after 5ish miles I get P1308 x 4
Year/Make/Model: 2004 WRX Wagon Version 8 ej207
Mileage: 90k
Fix for problem: Nothing yet... HALP!

Cross posted in the ej207 owners thread.

Default Missfires driving me crazy, please help

Hello I have an 2002 WRX with 179,XXX miles

I posted here before and I got some good feedback a few months.

Long story short - bought car with 16x,xxx in april 2013. the second day I owned it I got a P302 and P304 (simultaneously) this continued intermittently on for 30 miles off for 200 miles sometimes 700 miles for about a 2 months and then stopped completely for about 2 months.

then I got an intermittent P304 for a month then it stopped.

Last month I got an intermittent P302, P302, P304 (simultaneously)
I replaced all 4 coil packs last week

Now getting a P302

ANYONE PLEASE HELP this is driving me crazy and I hate to drive my car when it is doing this but I have no choice
P.S. my car was rear-ended and totaled 2 weeks after I bought it. still tracks straight and I cant afford to fix it so I drive it as-is. She just isn't as pretty from behind.
But I deleted my muffler a few months back after I noticed it was pushed against my sway bar and was a bit crunched from the accident

I have a '13 WRX, no mods. I have about 8k on the odometer. Tonight leaving work, I started it up and got out to brush the snow off while it warmed up. I get back in and the check engine light is on, CC, and traction control. It is about 15 here tonight but it ran fine on my way home. WTF?!!! Please help!!!!

Ok so I know this is probably just cluttering the forum. However still need help. So I just bought a used 2007 Sti this is my second sti I owned a 2008 previously. After picking the car up I was driving home and the cel and airbag light were flashing. I know this indicates a error code and having that code is the key to the problem but the car has a Invidia dp a blitz nur exhaust a grimspeed turbo controller and upgraded oil pump and spt intake. This falls under a stage two car I'm pretty sure but without opening the engine how would I know other? Also I need any help to try and guess the possible reason for cel issue. The car seems to have a aggressive time but have no AP to determine. Any ideas?

Code: P0302 - Misfire Cylinder 2
2006 WRX STI
91,000 miles

Car is bone stock, I've owned it for about 2 years (bought privately w/ 74,000) and searched the best I could in my $ range for one w/ no aftermarket parts that also had stock heat shields, etc. One mistake I made (esp. when throwin down STI type $$) was to make sure I go thru the trouble of havin a compression test done before buyin cuz I may have seen slightly lower #'s on 2 but took 1.5 years to get bad enuf for repair

Symptoms
She threw the CEL for the first time about 4 months ago with no sign of stutter or performance loss. I chalked it up to bad gas or similar anomalies for a couple months since no real sign of problems and cleared the CEL with my cheap code reader. Started feeling a stutter each time before the code threw so now I had to worry more..started switching plugs/coil pack/injectors..couple weeks after, CEL again and a cylinder was now noticeably down. Compression test confirmed cylinder 2 held almost no pressure and cylinder 4 was ~30psi under nominal. Took heads off and burned valve on 2 was the culprit w a small chip on the side

The Fix
Seems like I got away "cheaply" w $2500 to repair if done correctly and w a good independent mechanic lol. Piston and walls looked good so just needed a new valve but u don't just replace 1 valve haha..to do it right u pretty much need a complete valve job (I used the best rated machine shop I cud find..Larry's Auto Machine in Groton, CT) and also had to stretch an extra $1000 for the 90k service parts since its all apart anyway...def sucks but u gotta pay to play

No I didn't replace the tgv. The only thing I did was have to rebuild the turbo because the o-ring has bad.

Haven't done anything yet to fix it

The engine light came on while i was driving late last night and the cruise control light was also lighting up and flashing. So i went to my mechanic to see whats wrong and that code should up and told me it the catalytic converter. An I was reading through the forum that you have to change both the O2 senor and the converter. I also was wondering how long can i drive my sti until i can get it fixed? I also have a greedy ti-c catback exhaust.

Thanks

Code P0420 only means that the 02 sensor is detecting a lower then expected ratio between the exhaust entering it and the fumes exiting the converter. This can be caused by a lot of different things that has nothing to do with the converter. You need to look at the signal coming off the rear 02 sensor and see if its stable or if the sensor is erratic and gone bad. Next you have to look at the bank 1 02 sensor and see if maybe your running a little rich. Have you modded the car at all like with an aftermarket intake or larger down pipe. Before replacing your catalytic converter check your injectors and airflow. Also look for potential air leaks in your exhaust pipes. They would also fool the 02 sensors and cause bad readings.

P1505, throttle position sensor, bogus, really neutral safety switch is bad and when replaced all was well at smog. Subie dealers making a mint fixing a sequence of things except that darn 25$ switch. Subaru has known about this for many years but does nothing, most dealers not even aware of issue. until switch is replaced OBDII will not reset and cannot pass smog.

Default 2008 subaru impreza 2.5i p0302 mifire killin me

ive had this code since summer car has 77k on it. i was passing a car one day and i got on it when i shirfted back up it threw a check engine light. so i scanned it threw p0302 code ive had all new plugs wires replaced coilpack did nothing so put old back in. had both valve covers new tube seals and gaskets cause there was oil on all 4 plug boots still throwin code. if i start it cold and hold a little gas on it at all times till its fully warn it wont throw code. so it only throw it if it sits at idle cold after not running. random misfire i can hear it out exhaust and feel it at idle cold.but no loss of power when on gaas at all. and idles great when i drive it 20 miles and stop but still get a little drop in rpms like it wants to stall coming up to lights if cold it stalls help me dont really see it being piston its not smokin or knocking and its only got 77k on it.
